With the #Gimp update #GTK2 can finally rest in peace.

Se acabó. Después de incontables años con #LXDE, y tras profundizar en su personalización, me he cansado de lo cutre que es #GTK2 y de lo mal que gestiona #GTK3. Me cambio de escritorio.

Primero he dado una oportunidad a #LXQt, pero no lo soporto, me parece una aberración. Que se supone que está hecho por y para #Qt exclusivamente, pero la única forma de que se vea bien es activando la conversión de GTK3 y... GTK2, y lo junta con los estilos de widgets de #KDE, y el gestor de ventanas de #XFCE, y lo junta todo en un revoltijo donde no hay quién se aclare, donde cada conjunto de temas de un mismo concepto está disperso por media docena de carpetas a lo largo y ancho del sistema. #aCagar.

También he probado con Fluxbox, pero aun añadiéndole costillas me sigue sabiendo a poco.

Al final, me parece que el ganador va a ser XFCE, que lo veo bastante bien acabado.

Si hay alguien que quiera darle algún consejillo sobre XFCE a un pobre novatillo, aquí espero.

A few years ago, streaming audio and video were much different than today.

DarkSnow was a GTK2 application that could stream audio to an icecast2 server.

Theorur was a GTK2 application that could stream audio and video to a media server.

But today, these unmaintained projects have been replace with more advance applications like MIXXX and OBS.

LXDE is written in the C programming language and uses the GTK 2 toolkit. There is also an experimental GTK 3 port developed by the Arch Linux community.

LXQt is a free and open source lightweight desktop environment. It was formed from the merger of the LXDE and Razor-qt projects.

While LXDE uses GTK2 and GTK3, LXQT uses Qt Toolkit.

@mntmn try a #GTK3 app, like evince. I think it's just #Firefox's fault for still using #GTK2 in this case.

My waste of time web archive url fetcher got itself upgraded with a Gtk2 GUI.

I've had this as a cli tool since the internet archive wanted me to run JS to find archived versions of websites. I much prefer a simple tool like this with an easy to navigate list of snapshots.

Also, – if you make the window bigger – it can't resize back to a smaller width, later, because the Text View has expanded and refuses to shrink.

gtk2: I'm trying to bump down menu font size a tad in gvim, which means mucking with a .gtkrc file somewhere. I've no idea what resources are involved, and of course, docs are abysmal.
