I'm curently trying to #install #ArchLinux on an "old" #laptop, (an #IdeaPad 110-15iBR gifted to me, to be precise) but I might be stupid, but even following the wiki's instructions, I keep failing.

Might it be possible to have some #help from you, to see whut I'm missing? I know it would mean I vold have to stay up at night, since I'm #French and you #Australian, but I'm just THAT #desperate.

Can we discuss our disponibility to organise such a thing? (You can diffuse it live, on Twitch or whatever, just warn your other followers of my atrocious French accent. 😉)

I have USB-C (input) dual monitor MISURA 15" with two cables
1. USB-C -> USB-C
2. 2xUSB-A -> USB-C

Monitor works with Lenovo Thinkpak T490 with both cables (1. and 2.), OS Windows 11.

I tried on my Lenovo ideapad Y580, where are only USB-A ports (possible usage only 2.), OS linux, but it not work.

Any idea how to bring it work?

If never set to sleep, it doesn't happen. 🤷🏼

Got a #Lenovo #IdeaPad #IdeaPadFlex5 with an #AMD #Ryzen4000 in it.
Affected are at least 6.12.6 & 6.12.7, last working I've still installed is 6.12.4

Problem: Laptop monitor flickers when switching on from standby.

This does not happen:
- the first time it is switched on/restarted without standby
- when it is connected to the power supply

Do you think the backlight is the problem? Everything else works. (even touch)
On my way to #38c3.
If anyone can help please let me know.

- beim ersten Einschalten/Neustart ohne Standby
- wenn er am Strom hängt

Vernute ja das Backlight ist das Problem? Sonst funktioniert alles. (sogar touch)

#Leonovo #ideapad 520s does not charge and does not run from power supply, but runs from power supply with unplugged battery?

In my case, the broken part was PQ305, AON7408L in DFN8-5 package, on the PCB side that faces the keyboard.

The metal foil is best removed from the inside with a toothpick through those two holes.

I used hot air to replace the part.

Part cost shipped: 10€ (10 pcs - anyone need 9?)
Diagnosis time: ~1 hour
Replacement time: ~30min

👉 yeah, nah, see thread above - imma not repeat the #benchmark setup specs, again.

edit: i'll keep the stopwatch counting, because i want to establish "my personal" use case maximum. Same specs; but the tablet runs off its internal battery now. Windows estimates +2:13 hours.

Setup:
👉 tablet and powerbank was fully charged
👉 100% display brightness, muted audio
👉 1080p/<10mbps HEVC playing looped in VLC
👉 via iAX210, Wi-Fi 5/5gig AP, #sshfs for Windows
👉 "default AC plugged in" power profile

Currently: tablet still fully charged, powerbank at 22%, duration is 8:25 hours

Hier liegt ein (nicht mein) Lenovo IdeaPad D330-10IGM 81MD0032GE, an dessen SSD ich herankommen muß. Denn das Gerät ist nach einem Sturz defekt: Nicht nur hat das Display einen Riß, sondern die Tastatur nimmt Eingaben (Paßwörter etc.) nicht mehr korrekt an. Das Gerät weigert sich auch, von einem USB-Stick zu booten. Es fällt stur immer wieder in sein Windows 10, egal welche Tasten ich beim Bootvorgang drücke.

Die Aufgabe: Die SSD rausholen und woanders auslesen, weil da noch Daten drauf sind, die noch nicht ins Backup kopiert wurden.

Mehrere Suchmaschinen konnten nichts passendes finden, und da mir die Serien-Nr. fehlt (wie auch sonst jegliche Beschriftung am Gerät, will oder kann auch die Website von Lenovo nicht wirklich weiterhelfen. Alles, was ich habe, ist die Rechnung, auf der auch einige technische Details stehen, aber auch keine Seriennummer vermerkt ist. Demnach sollte da eine 64-GB SSD drinstecken. Von außen scheint die SSD nicht zugänglich zu sein, falls ich nichts übersehen habe.

Die vier Schrauben unter der Tastatur habe ich gefunden und gelöst. Am Display sind gar keine Schrauben. Aber ich bekomme den Deckel unter der Tastatur trotzdem nicht ab, irgendwo hängt der noch fest. Da ich nichts kaputtmachen soll (warum auch immer, das Ding ist IMHO erledigt), kann ich den Deckel auch nicht einfach aufbrechen.

Ich wäre sehr dankbar für eine Anleitung in Textform mit Fotos für genau dieses Gerät, wie ich die SSD da rausbekomme. Zur Not nehme ich auch ein Video, aber nur ohne Hintergrundmusik und mit verständlicher Sprache DE oder EN.
