One aspect of #ClimateChange is that when and if the prior stable point shakes loose we can't reliably predict whether it bounces around local minima for awhile or rolls right into a nearest neighbor stable point. Both could be bad, but scenario one is probably not good very bad worserer in terms of time for adaptation...
