This is a winter season landscape format photo taken on an accessible hiking trail that runs through an urban forest. Snow covers the trail and also coats the branches of the trees in the area, which are a mix of deciduous and coniferous. A short wooden retaining wall is on the left side of the trail. A wooden railing with snow capped posts is on the right side. Some blue sky can be seen through the trees as the photo was taken on a nice morning. A small sunburst has been captured through the trees. Shadows can be seen on the snow. This photo has a real "wintery" feel to it.

There's multiple entrances into #CuthbertHolmesPark - which is directly connected to Colquitz River Park. This is my fave entrance because it takes you straight into the forest 😊💚🌲 There's an unmarked entrance around the corner from here that also leads directly into forest & we exited from that trail.
These two nearby municipal parks are part of the Craigflower-Colquitz Watershed. There's estuary/bird & wildlife sanctuary areas in both parks. Lots of active rewilding projects happening year round in both parks too. Please keep your dogs on leash & out of nature restoration zones.
