I'm going to try to graft some cuttings of the apple tree from my childhood onto one of the apple trees I bought and planted. The place I bought my trees from (Cummins Nursery) has a guide. I appreciated their simple introduction to the reasons behind grafting. 1/3

All it took was six years of care-taking, lessons learned, and more than a little luck (or possibly divine favor), but this year I have peaches! Or maybe the peach trees are saying, "Hey, this year has been rough - here's something sweet to help you through for a bit." Either way, I'm grateful.

My 7 year old peach trees (6 years in the ground here) look like they might just provide fruit this year. In the meantime, I'm taking this as a sign that they are happy and healthy and maybe I've hit my stride in caring for them. They sure are pretty though. :peach_ms:

🌸 Spring magic in the garden!
Our apple tree is bursting into bloom, and it’s putting on such a show. Every branch is covered in delicate blossoms—always a highlight of the season. Fingers crossed for a good harvest later this year 🍎✨

Hard to beat the beauty of those soft pink and white flowers against the fresh green backdrop. Just had to snap a few photos!

Today I installed a trellis along the back wall of our yard and planted 3 grape varieties to start (Concord, Flame seedless, and Princess seedless) to go along with my other fruit trees: Pineapple Guava, Tangerine, Blackjack fig, Santa Anna Rosa plum, lemon, pomegranate, kumquat, Cara Cara orange, Rainier cherry, lime, Anna apple, Bing cherry, and almond. All that coupled with 2 varieties of rose bushes, lavender, Aloe (which was already planted and just have it for looks) and Santa Rita Opuntia (purple prickly pear cactus). Still have work to do. Getting the grass to start growing and put down seed in bare spots. Have a few weeds to take care of and I'm considering planting clover in the bare dirt areas on each tier to help with weed control and bees love clover and doesn't really require maintenance. #backyard #fruittrees #grapes #backyardorchard #organic
