👍 This book was cute and cozy. Overall, I liked the initial world build and magic system. There were a lot of threads and some were resolved easily, some not so much. I don’t really think this needs to be stretched into four books but I guess we’ll see! Off to wait on some library holds 🙃

So okay, bardicperspiration.com is coming along nicely, but we're going to move webhosts soon. Moving is the perfect time to assess services and stuff and right now, we're rly looking into whether something other than Mediawiki would be better.

Basically, we find that Mediawiki is pretty oof at times. The documentation is def written for ppl who live code and computers (it's detailed in an unhelpful way) and some of the configuration stuff feels like it was an afterthought.

Things we need:

Multifactor
Can be used on shared host
Customizable look
Open Source
Still developed
Established (new is nice until the dev loses interest)

We've seen mention of #Dokuwiki, #PmWiki, #wikijs, and #Bookstack, but we're willing to listen to good ideas!

Dickish reply guys ("just spend ur life learning #Mediawiki it is awesome) will be mercilessly roasted. It's a server rule.

👍 This is one of those novels that will be a classic in the future, I can already tell. A novel about love, fame, sex, and family. I couldn’t put it down, and it is complex and emotional. I was honestly surprised by the prominent LGBTQ+ rep, but it should really have not surprised me at all. A must read, honestly.

👍 Super exciting and BRUTAL. It’s like if Spartacus had a fantasy baby. The fight scenes were very immersive but be warned, bloody. I enjoyed the world build and the political intrigue. And Leith was a great grumpy book boyfriend 😍

👎 TBH there were some parts where the pacing/ plot points felt off BUT I listened to this mostly on audio so that’s probably my fault for not paying attention?

👍 Finished this book in under 8hours because I could not put it down. Plus, it’s so pretty! I went in expecting a fun why choose romantasy and ended up thinking this author must live inside my head because how did she pull these men from my dreams? While the world building is fun a few times the sheer scale of things threw me off but only momentarily. For example, hundreds of stories in the air is fine for flying but for buildings in a fantasy setting, its a little far fetched. But other than that, I love it.

Will this book shake you to your core with how spicy it is? ehhh not really but that’s ok. Am I excited for the next book to be released, oh hell yes!

Multi POV, mystery, thriller

👍 This book was so good!!! I cannot believe this is a debut. It was a locked room whodunnit set at an elaborate sweet 16 party. I absolutely loved the pacing and how the author slowly revealed the twists. I truly loved the symmetry at the end as well!! This gave me major The Guest List vibes 😍😍😍 ALSO I read the book as a love letter to the Texas Hill Country bc I grew up where the book was set so it gave me major nostalgia 🥺

👍 I absolutely loved this cozy mystery and binged it in about 24 hours. I loved that our FMC has gained some friends in this sequel and come into her own. The author even introduced a love triangle which normally I hate, but it works here. This book kept up the hilarious banter and hijinks a la Wisteria Society so bravo 👏 I also enjoyed the commentary on the importance of art and free expression. I simply CANNOT wait for book three after that ending sentence 🙃

👍For being the first book in the series, this wasn’t super heavy on the world building. And that’s okay! It was oddly refreshing to not get an info dump. Instead, we follow the FMC Diem through her daily life as she deals with the secrets left behind by her mother. The ending was 🤯 and it’s taking all my self control not to binge 😂
