Saturday morning baking: two loaves of sourdough bread. Good to warm up the house on a chilly morning.
The advantage of waking up way too early: it's 7 am and I already have baked fresh bread. I'm slowly getting to the point of having fine tuned temperature and time for the new oven. 470 F and a baking time of 29+25 minutes (lid on/off).
Mir ist aufgefallen, dass ich euch ja noch nie von meiner Brotback-Leidenschaft erzählt habe.
Heute gab es ein Weizen-Roggen-Mischbrot — selbstverständlich nur mit Sauerteig. Vorgestern angesetzt mit einem Poolish und mit Übernachtgare.

- Epitomises a cultural stereotype (National obsession with freshly baked bread)
- Upsets food purists (No! The bread must be hand baked by an artisan!)
- and thus invokes a philosophical quandary - cue heated debate about what defines "fresh" "bakery" and "artisanal" bread :)
