I found a tranche of (mostly) unprocessed jpegs taken back in the heyday of the Bosque. Some, like this one are digiscoped using a small Nikon point-and-shoot. Those days we'd go down several times a season the birding was so good. I'll post more in the coming weeks.

A handsome eagle with a black throat and boldly black and white striped breast sits on a thickish, lichen-covered branch. His crest is flattened like an angry dog's ears and his beak is open. There is a hint of orange fur clutched in his talon, although most of the prey item is out of view. He is not silent, he is obviously calling! This is the father Crested Eagle, who returned to the nest to discover his baby bird had left the nest for the very first time. He made a lot of noise for a couple of hours, and eventually the baby did respond and was fed. from a new perch in the forest. I can #digiscope! 🤓 How nice 🙂. It never worked for me, but I have a new mobile phone (this time not the usual cheap offer from last year but a #Fairphone after a recommendation by @Ruth_Mottram about a year ago - I had to wait for my old one to give up..) so I tried again and now I could make some pics of birds in the garden. I will have to practice more, because it is not that easy - but there you go, my first digiscoped pictures - taken from the convenience of the warm house 🥳

This evening I got out my little 70mm backpack refractor, and tried to get the #digiscope adaptor working with my mobile. And I got it all aligned! My attempts at Jupiter were not so memorable, but I am really happy with my #moon shot.
