Where I disagree with #draghi and prof Caffarra is: "the vexed issue of telco investment." The reason why many telecom regulators and nerds like me, take issue with the #draghireport on telecom is, because it just regurgitates the excellent lobby by, but wrong ideas of @connecteurope.bsky.social
The #draghireport has good notions on the need for European industrial policy. I've always been in favor of "industrial" policy, because the outcomes of economic policy take 5-15 years to materialise and 15 years to show up in statistics (see Solow paradox). So "leaving it to the market" is wrong.

Hans Stegeman has published a great analysis of the Draghi report. What I liked most about it is that he spent some time quantifying where the difference in GDP growth between Europe and the USA ended up making an impact. It turns out to break down into three: population increase, increase in the per capita income of the top 10% earners, increase in the per capita income of the bottom 90% earners.
