Anyone have experience with flatbed scanners? Looking for something above entry level, 11x17 capable, and has some speed to it. As a former high end drum scanner operator, I've been very spoiled in my lifetime. My little Epson v350 doesn’t cut it anymore. As the accidentally appointed family #genealogist, I am tasked routinely with scanning old photos and photo albums, some dating back to the late 1800s.

Looking for a faster better flatbed scanner.

Our #flatbed stuff heading out west to #utah and #idaho has slowed down for now. So after running a #vantrailer for the past few days I'm back on flatbed with a load out of a new #customer going to #massachusetts. Been about 2 years I think since I went that far inti the northeast. So it'll be kind of nice to do something differant for a change.

Well this is a #first. I've hauled all kinds of stuff on #flatbed. #hay, #onions, #bricks, etc. But I've never #hauled #stones before.

Finally set up my new #scanning station using a digital camera instead of a #flatbed #scanner. Initial setup is more troublesome but the whole process is much faster. The results with my #omsystem #om-1 and #hires 80mpix are great for 35mm film. For 120 film the results are a bit better than for #epson #v700

Well after being off #work for about a week and a half to get my tonsils removed its time I get back to it. I'm not technically supposed to go back yet but I'll be fine as long as I stick to #vantrailer loads and don't do any #flatbed loads. So Iron Ridge #wisconsin here I come.

And yet again here I am hooked to a #flatbed that I imediately had to take to the #garage to have a #tire replaced. This 1 tire turned into 3 after the #mechanic found a bald spot on the one behind this one and another bad one on the other side that I never noticed due to focusing on this one. I swear sometimes it seems like I'm the only one that #inspects these things before I take off or drop them.

Anybody want some onions? I've got #plenty. I picked these up earlier today in #Oregon and am taking them to #Nashville #Tennessee. Bet ya"ll thought stuff like this was #shipped via a #refridgerated #trailer or something. While thats true for a lot some is just put on a #flatbed with #tarps and held down with #straps. You just gotta leave the tarps partially open so air can circulate around them. That way they don't start to get soft.

That moment when you take off with a #load of bricks on a #flatbed and you notice that #traffic is giving you ALL the #space. Even going as far as moving over 2 full lanes to pass instead of 1 whenever possible.

And yes I checked to make sure they wern't seeing something I missed. All is tight, where it should be, and hasn't shifted at all.

Gotta love it when a #shipper wants to #load you to the absolute max but has a #forklift #driver that doesn't know what they're doing. The line labeled trailer axle shouldn't be over 34,000lbs. They got it almost 2,000lbs over. So now I gotta go back to the #shipper in the #morning to have them rework it.
