@LukaszHorodecki @linux_pl W sumie jak ten #hblock jest opakowany w #gnome #extension to czemu by nie instalować.

@LukaszHorodecki @linux_pl właśnie sobie czytałem #twig i powstał nowy #extension dla #gnome, właśnie umożliwiający użycie #hblock w quickmenu.
@linux_pl Ktoś z was bawił się hBlockiem*?
* „hBlock is a POSIX-compliant shell script that gets a list of domains that serve ads, tracking scripts and malware from multiple sources and creates a hosts file, among other formats, that prevents your system from connecting to them.”

@LoboTom Brilliant, never saw it from this perspective before.

I use hBlock, "hBlock is a POSIX-compliant shell script that gets a list of domains that serve ads, tracking scripts and malware from multiple sources and creates a hosts file, among other formats, that prevents your system from connecting to them," on all of my computers. It works well, but almost never too well. Last year, I recounted the story of one time where it did work too well -- when it rendered me unable to purchase a new health insurance plan (thanks to this post, I will remember to temporarily disable it this year).

The story of how my attempt to purchase health insurance in New York hit a brief snag because one part of the Exchange website did not play nicely with hBlock, my hosts blocking solution. I resolved the issue, and that hBlock handles the NYS government is a big plus in my book. There is an open invitation for feedback from people who know way more about this than I do.

Installed and updated #tblock right now https://codeberg.org/tblock/tblock as an alternative to #hblock
