The "Pro Audio" profile in #Pipewire has vanished for my #mAudio #airHub.

I have Pipewire 1.4.10 from a PPA. on #UbuntuStudio 24.04

I don't have time right now to look into this. But things like this make me nervous. What if this happens on my Laptop just the day I need to record a show from a digital console via USB?

"Pro Audio" also went away for my 100% professional and much needed Dante AVIO USB audio interface. WTF?

EDIT: So, I ran the UbuntuStudio audio config something and selected "switch configuration" and found out I was not using Pipewire at all! I was using only PulseAudio. Which has no Pro Audio of course. The really crazy thing about this however is: Something made the switch automatically, likely by (un)installing some packages. It's kind of a dark magic! This is Windows 11 behavior, not #Linux… argl!

My #MAudio Keystation Mini 32 broke because the USB port was surface mounted and stripped right off the circuit board (with traces!).

My #Arturia Keystep 37 just now broke, because while not surface mounted, the cheap USB B port's backshield popped off and ripped off two SMDs in the process.

Like I'm kinda stunned. Almost makes me think keyboard producers does this on purpose…

In both cases I neither of them received any abuse or excessive force. And after my M-Audio died I've been trying to be very careful about the cable insertion :blobPikaGlare:

And in both cases, this could have been solved with not soldering the USB ports directly to the PCB :blobPikaSob:

I recently recovered my old #MAudio #FastTrackUltra from storage, and so after years of opening #REAPER every now and again to take a look, I decided to invest some hours in learning how to use it, and so I also finally purchased a license. Is there any other #DAW product that represents this kind of value for money? I think probably not.

Don't ask me why this works. But if you have an #MAudio #Air192 audio interface on Windows, youve no doubt had the thing just drop out on you or gotten tons of static on your inputs.

Set the format on your inputs and outputs to 176.4Khz at any bit depth, and you won't have those problems any more.

Bei meinem bisherigen Windows10-Rechner konnte ich die #Icybox-Dockingstation und meine #MAudio 8 als Aufnahme/Wiedergabegerät anschließen und dann mit #Cubase aufnehmen. Bei meinem neuen #Windows11 Notebook funktioniert's einfach nicht. Wenn ich die Dockingstation anschließe, erkennt er keine Audiotreiber mehr. Cubase erkennt das M-Audio auch nicht mehr. Alles rotz. 🤬

Happy to report that my shiny new (super low-end!) #MAudio #Air 192|4 #AudioInterface works out of the box on #ChromeOS over #USB, both as a #soundcard and as an #XLR #mic-in.

As an #audio newb, I mostly chose it for the big knob in the middle!

Now I know it's working (and won't need to be returned) I might even take the plastic cladding off the front panel+knob ... 😱

My new #musicworkstation is built and running nice and quiet - it’s a shame that I’ve had so much trouble installing all the software…the lesson I’ve learnt this week is that if you have old, discontinued music software, just don’t attempt to install it - thanks for messing up my week #maudio with your bloody Trigger Finger Pro software, it totally trashed my Windows 10 install 🤬

Thinking about getting an m audio oxygen for my desktop space, a Roland 60x or an RD 2000 (anyone have opinions between these two?) for the other room.
