Maybe I'm not doing myself any favors by asking this, but what's your overall attitude toward Omarchy?

Okay, and I'm also interested in your opinion. 🤗

Thoughts on before getting rid of it and going +

1. Installer is nice, has an RPG-like feel to it and while being keyboard base, it's pretty intuitive and easy to use
2. Predefined themes look really good
3. It is too bloated for my liking, I understand the purpose but prefer the minimal setup approach, specially regarding installed apps
4. DHH

Taking it as learning experience, seeing it is a script, I am now curious about making my own to fit my needs.

Yeahhhh, I should've fixed my work OS not being able to go to sleep properly way sooner, it really makes a difference in the power usage of my PC. And by "fix" I mean switch distro completely, lol. The new setup also seems to be more efficient in general, which is nice. Kinda surprising for a switch that also included going from Hyprland to full-on KDE Plasma. But then again the Hyprland setup was running on Omarchy, which, uh, yeah. In my defense, I learned about all its problems only after already having settled in, and that was another major reason for wanting to switch away. Happy I finally did it, but still torn on whether Krohnkite is going to be enough for me long-term, or if I'm going to give another natively tiling WM a shot again. Maybe I'm going to check out Niri

Bar chart made of two bars labeled "Feb 2" and "Feb 3", the former being almost twice as tall as the latter.Line chart showing detailed power usage across the same two days as the previous chart. Both days have a roughly equal span of time during which power was used. The second day shows a bunch of short periods where power usage was close to zero. The second day shows the same general pattern, but power usage doesn't go to zero, but to a shared baseline that's more about half of peak load. Even discarding those periods of no usage, average power draw on the second day is lower than on the first.

Today, I learned about #vivaldibrowser https://vivaldi.com and tested it during the day. EOD, I made it my default browser in #omarchy

I'll start the morning today with some tea instead of ☕, hands on code now. Have a lot to do but want to take some time during the week to try out the most recent alpha version of #Tuple for Linux. We'll see how well it works for me under #Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (yes, I'm a boring rails dev who doesn't use Arch or #Omarchy)

I love it.
'tony btw' just came out with `tonarchy` the true arch minded minimalistic installer alternative to the totally bloated omarchy by overrated dhh.

I've been doing some research and the following technologies and tools are going to be my weapons of choice from here onwards:

- Programming language: Python. Reasoning: Made in Europe. Highly popular. Gets the job done.

- OS: Linux. Reasoning: It's not Windows or Mac and actually works. And it's #OpenSource. And developed by a Fin. I just got myself a brand new #SlimBook with #Omarchy pre-installed.

- Code editor: Zed. Reasoning: Comes pre-installed with Omarchy. Integrates with OpenCode.ai

I'm now properly read up and am ditching #omarchy linux as I don't do fascist. Sorry it took that long, it's quite the chain of bullshit. As I have half a dozen machines to rebuild can anyone tell me if #CachyOS is ethical?

@itsfoss

To make my nixos config much more better than it is now. So that people can try my whole setup in few commands like #omarchy but easy to inspect, configure coz it's just #nix . Plenty others in #nixos community already did this btw. And I'm curious too😄

For me Ai is something to study and test it. I don't use it, for sure i don't ask simple questions.
But time to time i try to understand which kind of limitations it has.

I'm very aware about my laptop security and privacy for this reason i decide to test Gemini in linux hardening for omarchy ( @SecureBlue is far better)
Spoiler the 1° and the 2° output was a mess, but with third and with some prompt adjustment I reach the result you see in this repo:
