I can't believe that 64 GB swap should be a norm for a system with 64 GB RAM.

Yes we can! Without #authkeys!

Because #TLS supports not just #server side #certificates , but also the client can be verified.

My #Dovecot now logs me in without a password :D I just need to possess a valid (unlocked) private key. The secret never crosses the network.

Next step: make sure the decrypted key is never written to #swap .

I wish using #VRAM as #swap in #Linux was easy and safe. It would be even more useful now that the #AI bubble has caused a surge in the price of #RAM. Many desktop and laptop computers have a discrete #GPU whose dedicated memory is very much underused.

Je tu druhé Hrabošení! Tentokrát se zaměříme na kuchyni a budeme měnit všechno, co v ní je občas potřeba. Například:
-hrníčky a sklenice
-talíře a misky
-příbory a obracečky a takové ty věci co patří do druhého šuplíku
-hrnce, malé hrnce, pánvičky a střední hrnce
-mikséry a varné konvice
-cedníky, struhadla, mísy
-a podobné věcičky.

Jako minule platí, že co se nerozebere, pošleme na místa, kde to někdo ocení. S něčím budeme oslovovat FnB kolektivy, něco předáme do domácností v projektu Housing First a dalším sociálním projektům.

Pokud něco doneseš, rády*i se toho ujmeme. Pokud si něco budeš brát, můžeš a nemusíš přispět do kasičky. Všechno, co v ní na konci najdeme, předáme na účet R-mostů, který jsou bezva (víc na www.r-mosty.cz).

So, I like the perspective of optimizing swappiness on #Fedora, because I started to run out of memory as demands have grown. 8 GB simply doesn't cut it.

But according to biskitpagla, it's not recommended to take up more #ZRAM than my actual #RAM, because it would override all attempts at switching to #swap file in case ZRAM is exhausted.[1]

#ArchWiki has some config to make better use of ZRAM along with swappiness[2], so I'll take it.

3 года прожил с 32GB оперы без #swap и не испытывал проблем. Всё изменилось когда решил собрать #firefox сборка выжрала всю оперативную память и система жёстко затормозила (хоть и не зависла) и получил ошибку.

А всему виной #rust который жрёт как не в себя. Сегодня собирал #librewolf и пришлось ограничиться 8 потоками и всё таки подключил #swap (но забыл изменить vm.swappiness = 0 поэтому на скрине #swap = 0).
