Tried upgrading a clean RHEL 9.6 install to RHEL 10.0 using the official leapp tool — no custom configs, no extra packages.

Result? Boot failure and emergency mode.
If it breaks in the most trivial case, how can we trust it in production?

Was just a test, but still... lesson learned.
Anyone out there actually pulled this off?

Upgrading my system disk from 512GB to 4TB went well.

I did a fresh install and have now configured everything.
I made a dedicated partition for ZFS now, instead of using a loop file with Incus.

Feels nice to be done ☺️

I reached a new level of #lazy at #work today. I got a ticket about a #systemupgrade, attached to said ticket was a shitton of #pdf files. I uploaded them all to #chatgpt and asked it to write a summary with the most important info I did think I needed. The guy that actually bother to read all the pdfs was impressed how fast I was able to summarise everything the techs needed to know.

I thought: after all these years the experience must've improved to level 'perfect'. Nope. Installing @ubuntu with @libreoffice, @thunderbird, Firefox, @nextcloud desktop client & @keepassxc (still) isn't fool-proof. Not something I would ask my parents or friends to do anyway.

Two examples: searching in 'Ubuntu software' doesn't return Snaps even if they exist. Setting up sync of the user's root folder is impossible with NC snap, while Flatpak has invisible icons…
