#workingFromHome

My dog when I'm working:
*Antsy af*
*Constant pleading stares*
*Listless pacing*
*Restless sighs of exasperation*

My dog when it's time for the walkies he's been yearning for:

πŸ“» David McCollum @standrewssgsd.bsky.social was on BBC Radio Wales yesterday discussing recent research on #workingfromhome in relation to the government's plans to relocate senior #civilservice jobs - it could help rejuvenate regional economies and encourage private sector follow-through. @SussexBylines #WorkingFromHome #wfh Employers that embrace working from home or hybrid working will thrive. Those that don't won't!

πŸ”– NEW research findings on #workingfromhome out today

Hopes that it would help struggling UK regions attract high-skilled workers to level up the #economy have not been realised, with post-Covid home working not significantly changing where people live.

The prevalence of #hybrid roles over those that are fully remote means most staff who can work from home are still tied to a city centre workplace.

#WorkingFromHome has its advantages. Blasting cool songs when they hit your #plexamp playlist.

#Prodigy with Spitfire is definitely one of those songs.

Being my last work day for this week, this is appropriate.

I'm incredibly lucky in that my job is really flexible and I spend a lot of time either out on site or working from home.

Today though, I'm in the office, and bloody hell I cannot get ANYTHING done. Constant distractions, constant interruptions, constant "can you just".

If I ran an organisation, the last place I'd want my staff is in an office. The place is a productivity killer.

To the man who stopped his (white cargo?) van in front of my house, got out, took a photo of my house, then got back in and left: thank you for creating some mystery in my life.

I also took a picture of you from my second floor window, which I think you looked up and saw, but it didn't come out very interesting. I hope yours turned out better.

My view this morning 😍

A view of the London skyline, taken from a high-rise apartment block in Canary Wharf. In the foreground, laptop and iPad, in the background, London’s Shard building and a bank of clouds.A selfie taken from a MacBook Pro, illustrating a tired face. In the background, a wall-mounted TV and a view of the neighbouring apartment block.
