Oh no! I've got no luck with birds today. 😞 We're working on the terrace again and saw some nesting materials in a small corner between the wooden beams yesterday. Now we wanted to clean the space and discovered that it wasn't just some nesting materials, but a neat little nest! Probably from a pair of black redstarts. But after disturbing them for two whole days, I guess it's safe to assume that they abandoned the nest. I'm so sorry, little birds! 🥺

This is Maia, she is a neighbour. As you can see, Maia is long-haired which means a big floof shed before the hot weather. Now, she's a little bit of a rascal and doesn't like to be brushed when she's shedding her Winter coat - so instead she gives herself the zoomies through the bushes in the garden and uses their branches as brushes. 😂 I will say she looks hilarious when she runs because the fur trapped on her sides spreads out like wings. Like a little furry airplane. (In a few days she'll have shed almost everything and will allow her family to brush her again) 😂✈️✨

What's behind the this door? Second breakfast? Kinda! 🥞 This is a "Ghiacciaia". Essentially an outdoor fridge freezer. This place would be packed with ice or snow and used to keep food cold. We're talking meat, milk, vegetables, that half bag of oven chips in the back of the freezer we all have - everything. The palazzo where this Ghiacciaia resides is Palazzo Zani and it was built in 1594. The Ghiacciaia itself however was built sometime in the 1800's. So, between 1594 and sometime in the 1800's they probably had a Indesit or something. ✨
