We should be boycotting anything google does. The things they are doing in parallel by introducing fucked up stuff is more than enough to avoid them and their summer of code.
That is the only way freedom can be achieved.

My recommendation: Forget UA spoofing. You're in an abusive relationship with an MNC. Any opportunity you provide them will be used to abuse your #freedom, #privacy and #security. Never adjust yourself to accommodate them. It's a game you can't win.
Just abandon #Chrome and other chrome based browsers, #GoogleMeet and any other #Google services. Migrate to an ethical service provider. It's always worth it in the long run.

Well, this was the third day of my unplanned YouTube boycott. I didn't use YouTube at all, not even YouTube Music.
My son *did* use YouTube on the big TV while we were having dinner, and I even watched - but I didn't log into my own YouTube account, and when I was done with dinner I went back upstairs.
I think my next project is to document all of my YTM playlists and download any songs I'm missing.
It wasn't until I started boycotting YouTube that I started to realize how many posts here on Mastodon include YouTube videos. I didn't click on any of them. I favorited a few where I thought the text was good, but I didn't boost any of them as I thought that would seem hypocritical of me.
Does that sound pompous? Probably. Oh well.
I didn't post as much today as on the last few days; sorry about that! I'll try to think of things tonight that I can write and post tomorrow. Maybe some lost media of one sort or another.

This is day two of my unplanned YouTube strike, and once again I was able to get through the day without opening YouTube at all.
Partly I did that by spending more time on Mastodon; it really helps that I'm seeing a lot more activity and responses here. Thanks for that, everybody!
That actually makes me want to write more here. I suspect that I should be trying to take next steps to help make FediMeet a reality, but I don't know what to do. I did find an online resource about creating new Fediverse project, but I haven't started reading it yet. Any suggestions would be very welcome.
I wonder what I would need to learn? Coding? Stuff about servers? I have a fair amount of basic computer knowledge, and I took a basic class in Turbo Pascal in college, but that was decades ago. Still, I'm willing to try to learn. Again, I'm wide open to suggestions!
