BERT RANSOMWARE - THE RAVEN FILE
BERT Ransomware, active since March 2025, has expanded its operations to target both Windows and Linux environments. The group uses phishing for initial access and communicates via the dark web and Sessions for negotiations. Victims span multiple countries, primarily affecting service and manufacturing sectors. The Windows variant employs multiple file extensions and RSA encryption, while the Linux version shares code with Sodinokibi/REvil ransomware. A weaponized PowerShell script is used to disable security features before payload execution. The ransomware's infrastructure is linked to a Russian firm, suggesting potential ties to the region.

Any #Reaper users out there running on #linux with #RMEAudio drivers (the new ones seeing as the kernel based ones seem to have been broken /taken out since last time I tried linux for #musicproduction ) and managing to get latencies lower than 1024?
I've got a rig sort of running with #debian (13) drivers compiled and running and #pipewire. But it's still pretty finicky and I haven't got anywhere close to trying to make MIDI work yet!
Rust/Linux Is Awesome!
On Niri. It's wild how TWMs are basically becoming mini-DEs. The integrated screenshot tool and overview make it really hard for me to want to switch to anything else, rip Hyprland for me. Really makes me wonder if we'll get that strange mix of TWM+DE that hits the sweetspot of minimalism, customizability, and integrated functionality. Having to also be the compositor has really changed how these things are designed for the better imo, this is awesome.
Is normal for a human to have heterochromia?
No?
Then why the fuck night light doesn't work in both screens in GNOME?

Why are MIPI cameras on Linux such a nightmare? It feels to me like there is a Rube Goldberg contraption and all the parts are error prone
I've had quite a few Linux Distro fails, but I'd never return to Windows.
MX - drivers failed, couldn't boot with secure boot enabled, but black screen after boot.
Lite - install page is all malware and spam. Hard to trust the project.
Pop!_OS - repeated critical fail on install 2 machines
Debian - wifi adapter dropped out, so no mirror. install very limited functionality and hard to fix. Happened more than once, but debian is cool.
Never had a problem with:
Manjaro
Mint [best place to start]
Fedora
Neon
Zorin
Never used
Arch
Deepin
Kali
Garuda
Cent
Elementary
Suse
Personal rank of OS environment (very subjective)
1. Xfce
2. KDE
3. Gnome
Overall #Linux experience makes computing fun. Windows is expensive, spies on you, and is very restrictive in terms of what you can do.
Windows - Microsoft let's you use their computer.
With Linux, it's entirely your machine.
If you are starting your linux journey and your aren't really tech-savvy, start with linux mint (Ubuntu/Debian based). I'm no expert l, but if you have any questions, I am happy to try to help.

Wie schlecht kann ein Betriebssystem sein...?
Mit großem Pomp und KI zwingt Microsoft den Menschen Windows 11 auf, und dann funktioniert nicht mal so was simples wie der alte USB-Drucker.

Have you installed devel/libcjson via ports (or official pkg)? Or built without using ports?
https://www.freshports.org/devel/libcjson
Usually using ports/pkgs whenever available is the way to go on #FreeBSD.
And creating #ports at the first place is usually the way to go when porting #Linux apps to #FreeBSD to get massive benefits from ports framework.
