Die kommen glaub ich mit dem "two", dem Nachfolger. Der soll angeblich 7 x LAN und 2 x Sfp+ haben. Wird aber dann auch erheblich teurer sein.
@geerlingguy ooh, I'm loving this! I'm wondering how flexible this could be to turn it into a #mesh router. Could the GPS M.2 slot also be used for another WiFi card?
There have been projects like the #OpenWrtOne, #LibreRouter or #TurrisOmnia, nice platforms for 2.4+5GHz mesh routers. But they are either non-upgradeable, outdated, short in supplies and/or expensive.
I really like that you can easily upgrade the Compute Module or M.2 cards separately with the #Switchberry.

Bei mir macht die #OpenWrtOne drei WLANs auf:
- WPA3 2,4 GHz
- WPA3 5 GHz
- WPA2 2,4 GHz (Legacy-Devices)
Funktioniert ganz gut, Repeater habe ich nicht.
Das Ding hat gefühlt Tausend Einstellmöglichkeiten - bessere Netzwerker als ich werden sich da sicherlich richtig austoben können.

@gehrke_test Hmm, aber DSL-Modem braucht man doch trotzdem, oder kann der #openwrtone das auch?
Seit FrĂĽhjahr wird unser #WLAN von einer #OpenWrtOne gewuppt im Austausch gegen #FritzBox. Die Anschaffung einerseits wegen Modernisierung von Softwarestack und Protokollen, aber vor allem wegen langfristigem Support bei #OpenSource.
Das kleine Blaue läuft absolut unauffällig und fast hätte ich es vergessen, aber Heise nicht.

The #OpenWrtOne is powered by a #Filogic 820 SoC and features #WiFi6. This official OpenWrt device is manufactured by #BananaPi. While there is downstream #opensource code available for customizing the OpenWrt One to your heart's content, the upstream #Linux #kernel support to date hasn't been full-featured.

My newly acquired OpenWrt One router is causing me some grief. It seems to revert back to the firmware it shipped with (24.10.0-rc2) when I restart it after updating the firmware and doing all the required customization. Will have to attach a serial console and see if it yields any details. I fear the storage is faulty :-(
Anyone tried doing warranty claims on AliExpres?

Die #wlan Durchsatzrate von rd. 700 Mbit ist mehr als von der #fritzbox gewohnt und zufriedenstellend. Da kann man nicht meckern.

Noch kurz der #Stromverbrauch: Laut meiner #Shelly zieht die OpenWrt One mit 3 Clients 4 Watt.
Ich finde, das ist ein anständiger Wert.
Die Brutto-Durchsatzrate von 780 Mbit/s ist ja ganz nett, aber entscheidend ist, was real rauskommt.
Ein Vergleich mit der ollen FritzBox zeigt eine Steigerung der Performance beim secure copy von einem lokalen Server im LAN um Faktor 10.
Erreicht werden 32 MB/s.
Das erste Test-Setup ist per Webinterface schnell gemacht. SSH-PubKey hinterlegen und zwei WLANs in den beiden Frequenzsbereichen mit #WPA3 hochziehen ging in wenigen Minuten. Und die laufen auch stabil seit zwei Tagen.
Lediglich bei der Aktivierung von DHCP habe ich mir selbst ein Ei gelegt, da musste ich zwei mal in den Recovery-Modus. Vermutlich war ich zu langsam bei der Bestätigung und die voreingestellte statische Verbindung wurde wieder aktiviert.
