Played around with RealityScan from Epic. Had a lot of fun with it.

Scanned some fresh pastry that I got from a shop earlier.
Can already use them in a scene as is, especially if it's some background stuff, like a bunch of pastry on shelves behind a character or so.

But could also spend some time, retopo them manually and reproject color and normal maps onto an optimized mesh if you want to use it for games.

Are there any photogrammetry apps out there that makes use of a color chart in the process?
The results we get from modern phones are starting to get really good and could be used in a professional context, but I haven't seen any make use of color calibration with color charts yet.

This is a three month #solargraph taken at the #Gingin #GravityDiscoveryCentre .
This was taken with a #SolarcanPuck attached to the underside of the #RadioTelescope they have there. About six weeks in, they rotated the dish, resulting in two distinct sets of sun trails, at about 90 degrees. Scanned with #PhotoScan and processed in #Snapseed.

I rescanned this on a proper scanner now I am home. It makes quite a difference when compared to the rough #photoscan I did on-site! (See https://aus.social/@rdm/110599239402089210 for the original version.)

It is a six-month #solargraph taken at the Gingin Gravity Discovery Centre, looking north at the Leaning Tower. Many thanks to the GDC and AIGO for letting me set the cameras up back in December!

Mostly blue with hints of green, a ghostly image of the Gingin Leaning Tower is in front of the bell-curve arcs of the sun's path from solstice to solstice.
