Completed the standing desk riser. Not a "sit/stand" one - I have a seated desk in another room, this is in the "spare" room where space is limited.

Because it needs to move when people (like our eldest) visit l, I've made this collapsible. The whole thing folds down to the width of the rear legs.

Made from #PalletWood and some steel tubing from a disused mini-greenhouse.

Really pleased with this. I'll finish the ubiquitous blog post and share it in due course.

A bright-safety-yellow, glassless wooden door holds a portion of the viewing window's purple-painted pane frames within, as it stands next to a bright red, glassless wooden window, whose housing also holds a portion of its pane frames within, both of which share a wall of wooden slats (from colors white, down to blue, down to safety-yellow), and both of which lead into a grove of bamboo trees beyond their respective thresholds.

A disused red phonebox repurposed for displaying cheerful spring blooms in boxes. Some disused phoneboxes get repurposed as used-book swap boxes, or to hold a defibrillator, or as community notice boards. This one is at the town of Marlborough, Wiltshire, England. end April 2025.

Finished a couple of cleaning cloths inspired by Japanese #zokin cloths nested in a basket I mended with scraps of cloth - because #mendingmatters. The stitched cloths are about four layers of cotton jersey from old t-shirts. Stitched using #plantdyed cotton thread with colorful cotton cloth binding I made from the scraps of quilt I am sewing. Let's keep using our resources to keep them out of landfill.

A metal coat tree with swirly hooks. Hanging from the hooks are decorative suet ornaments, pine cones filled with peanut butter and bird seed, and a popcorn, cranberry and dried apple garland. In the background are bare trees, some with goodies hanging from the branches (including a hanging bird bath).

My favorite pastime is to build tiny retro machines based on industrial surplus. Sadly, the cost of these parts in the US have gone through the roof over the past few years. But I have my little collection #retrocomputing #retrogaming #repurposed #msdos #freedos
