After a recent update, when I boot NixOS the screen goes black just before the login screen. I've rolled back to the last generation that worked, but I'd really like to actually fix the issue. This seems to be the relevant error message, so apparently an issue with the AMD GPU driver:
kernel: [drm:dc_dmub_srv_cmd_run_list [amdgpu]] *ERROR* Error queueing DMUB command: status=2
Any ideas?
How to run 3 x AMD GPU (RX 570, RX 570, RX 470 ) in new ubuntu without crashing? #drivers #graphics #amdgpu #amdgpupro
https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/amd-gfx/2025-June/126067.html
So this is why AMDGPU can't reset properly? Because Digital Restrictions Management hardware built into it intentionally can't be initialized more than once after a power cycle or hard reset, for "security reasons"???? Fuck that shit. #amdgpu #endDRM
Brightness control fails on cold boot in UMA mode, but works after warm reboot after Hybrid/Dynamic mode #nvidia #lenovo #brightness #acpi #amdgpu
Anyone got a fix for this problem? I'm trying to use amdgpu-install and it's not reading the repos right they should be there #amdgpu
Secondary monitor not working with amdgpu driver #drivers #multiplemonitors #gpudriver #amdgpu
HDMI not detected on AMD Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS #2404 #hdmi #amdgraphics #amdgpu #amdryzen
Arg. issues with losing signal with the new monitor. might maybe be power supply issues causing the #AMDGPU driver to crash? Or it crashes after the system loses the connection to the monitor? Supposedly (according to #MicroCenter folk) a better monitor will fix it. Seems unlikely, but psu should be solid, so ??
no probs with old monitor. new monitor, random "no signal". but old=1920x1080, new=3440x1440.
Cables fine. DP / HDMI - happens with both.
Thoughts?

Quitando el tema de que Linux no es lo más importante para lo que indica el titular del artículo (#Wine, #DXVK, #GNU, #Mesa y el driver #amdgpu son el software fundamental que lo hacen posible), es buena noticia.
For those of you seeing weird corrupted images in #Linux distros shipping #GNOME 48, such as the avatars in Fractal's notifications (or search results for characters in GNOME Shell, or broken GDM avatars set by GNOME Settings), I filed this ticket in #Mesa : https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/13199
I've only tested this with #AMDGPU #Radeon graphics on #Wayland, but I'm curious to hear if it has been observed on other GPU drivers. So far, I don't think this has been affecting Intel GPUs.
Funny, the "experimental" support of my old Radeon graphics card by #amdgpu works way better than the "stable" radeon driver.
At least on #AlpineLinux.
It looks like #amdgpu is coocked again in the latest #archlinux kernel. I crashed on me after two minutes of work. Thankfully I have LTS kernel installed too, where the issue does not happen.
