I'd say #buddleja cuttings work about 99% of the time in my experience.

Aphids have found our butterfly bush (Buddleja davidii)…
These tiny sap-suckers may be a nuisance, but we try to keep balance in the garden. Ladybugs, lacewings and even great tits help keep them in check — nature’s pest control in action!
We'll monitor the situation and only intervene gently if needed.

You might might think that they'd make up or this by being havens for wildlife and food sources for pollinators, but as an invasive non-native species such large areas of buddleja monoculture do not seen to attract wildlife in any sort of numbers. This photo was taken on a sunny summer's day, and there were almost no bees, butterflies or other wildlife visibly using the buddleja.

It's not hard to see where the buddleja which infests Glasgow's historic buildings comes from. This area of wasteland in front of the former Tobago Street Police Station in the East End of Glasgow is capable of producing hundreds of millions of wind-blown seeds every year.

Part of the once-impressive former Central Police Headquarters on Turnbull Street in the East End of Glasgow. Designed by A.B. McDonald, and built in1903, this is a wonderful building and if properly restored or thoughtfully renovated, it would be a real architectural gem. Unfortuantely, it has lain empty and decaying for many years.

First flowers on Buddleja Candy Little Ruby opened today. The scent is already there. Can't wait to see those butterflys come around.

Deep red buddleja candy little ruby inflorescence with lots of immature flowers, but some already open. Buddleja is grown in a container on a balcony.

There are some pests feasting on my compact buddleja.
There is no webbing, so it is unlikely to be a case of spider mites. The suspects are too small to be aphids (at least those aphids I am familiar with).
These tiny pests (less than half of a millimeter in size) prefer grazing on the undersides of leaves. Their feeding leaves tiny light marks on the upper side of leaves.
What could it be? How can I get rid of it?

Guten Abend zusammen,
was war das für ein schöner Tag heute! Nicht zu heiß, herrliche Luft und viel Sonne. Ein Tag für den Garten! Heute konnte ich direkt den Vergleich zwischen dem Wasserdost #eupatorium und dem in die Kritik geratenen Schmetterlingsstrauch #buddleja beobachten. Über dem Dost eine richtige Wolke von Schmetterlingen, Bienen, Wildbienen und Schwebfliegen - und auf der Buddleja : nichts. Das spricht wohl für sich.
