Now.. what about these EPROMS on the FCU Extender boards? Peeking under the label we can see that these are M27C512 EPROMS and I have tools to read them.

There's also another chip labelled as FCU UT-15, but this turned out to be a PAL (TIBPAL20L8), which would require building custom hardware for dumping (though I already ordered some parts for it).

For now is skipped as the ROM in the CORE CPU board jumper "ON BRD ROM" jumper isn't set.

Achievement unlocked? I am now the "proud" owner of a "Spectroline PE-140T/F" UV EPROM eraser. 😲 😎 And so far four of my 10 EPROMs have been erased successfully. This is a "solid metal" unit not the flimsy plastic stuff from China. But ... I am a LITTLE scared of it. 😅

And @janbeta will be glad to hear that the timer on this one (a) works and (b) actually switches off the unit. 😬

Does anyone put there have a recommendation for a USB->25 pin serial port cable?

Specifically I have a Stag PP39 EPROM burner which works fine with a DOS program and I want to be able to use it with Linux and the only physical port on the Stag is a 25 pin serial port.

Damit hat der Michael mal EPROMS geblitzdingst.. äh.. ich meine mit einer UV-Lampe die Inhalte gelöscht.
Aufbau eigentlich ganz simpel: Leuchtstoffröhre, die im UV-Spektrum Licht aussendet, Starter, Vorschaltgerät und Schalter.

Im offenen Gerät liegt die UV-Lampe diagonal in einer Vertiefung. Darauf wurden die EPROMS gelegtGeöffnetes Gehäuse: Links auf Kopf liegt die UV-Leuchtstoffröhre, oben rechts der Starter. Rechts im eigentlichen Gehäuse auf linker Seite das Vorschaltgerät von BBC und VerkabelungDie Leuchtstoffröhre von Philips, 6 WattVorschaltgerät von BBC
