My issue is that the XBOX 360 (bluetooth) buttons' mapping seems to be correct on https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad but it's completely messed up in the games.

I tried to deactivate the Steam Input option but it doesn't help.

What a wonderful time it is to be a Linux user now. Games run almost natively (I played Stardew yesterday, and even my mods worked), and the app store looks neat and stylish, and it's not useless, unlike the Windows store. A golden age is beginning.

I remember when I was a kid, I installed Ubuntu as a second OS. It was version 12, I think. And I remember the app store back then was incredibly useless, with really bad apps, like something out of 2005. I think it was called Snap, right?

@kerravonsen you can still download the python2.7 packages and install with `dpkg -i`.

I used to have it around with al the old versions of py3 for a project I used to develop.

But that might not solve the issue that probably GNU-IMP won't be able to use both py2 and py3 plugins at the same time. I don't think there is a simple solution for that, sorry :(

@kerravonsen I don't know #flatpack, but can't you pin or lock the GNU-IMP version on it? I mean, just keep using the version that works for you? or did I misread and there is no version that works for you?

mein fazit nach einer woche #opensuse leap 16 (update von 15.6)
der ansatz ist geil und läuft grundsätzlich stabil aber hat noch kleinere macken (dass sich die plasmashell so halb aufhängt wenn man z.b. obsolete widgets oder miniprogramme entfernt und die taskbar anders konfiguriert und/oder was mit #proton macht, den genauen trigger konnte ich nicht bestimmen)

so ganz production ready war/ist das teil wohl noch nicht
und updates gibts auch noch keine, was ich schon bisi merkwürdig finde
normalerweise kann man mindestens 1 mal pro woche irgendwas updaten
allerdings funktionieren jetzt die #flatpack updates besser

Dear https://zoom.us, I appreciate you having a #Zoom client package that works on #Linux, that's mighty nice of you as I need that software to run for me and I appreciate it being native in my chosen OS. However, if you're gonna update the software really, really, really often (like you're doing these days) could you just take that one extra step and stop making me manually download and install a .deb file for every update? You can choose from multiple other options, like a #Flatpack, or an #Aptitude compatible solution.

I've a 17 year old low-line entertainment unit and one of the plastic supports has shorn off while I was cleaning. There is a very tiny amount of it sticking out, but not enough for me to get a grip with pliers. How can I get it out? It's a fairly tight fit, as in you would twist it slightly as you pushed it in to go in easier. I'd prefer to not have to drill a new hole. All I can think of is maybe try to glue something to it and then try to pull it out?

Nachdem ich vom Look and Feel des Standard-Gnome (Kein Dock unten, keine Maximieren/Minimieren-Icons bei Fenstern,...) schnell genervt war, hab ich beim Fixen (fast) Ubuntu nachgebaut:

#Flatpack (statt Snap)-Integration in Gnome-Software nachinstalliert, bei #Flathub #Gnome-"Erweiterungen" downgeloadet und installiert, "dash to dock" installiert (und in "Erweiterungen" aktiviert), Gnome-Tweaks installiert ("Optimierungen": Da können die Fenster-Icons reaktiviert werden).

Sehr positiv ist, dass sich im Nautilus-Dateimanager ("Dateien") die nicht mehr bootbare, verschlüsselte Ubuntu-SSD problemlos nach Passphrase-Eingabe einbinden ließ, und ich mit den Daten meiner Hochschulprojekte weiterarbeiten kann.

I had installed #VSCodium as a #flatpack (I'm on #CachyOs (ARC)) so #flatpack is kind of the default way of installing everything. But I forgot that #flatpacks are limited in their access to the rest of the system. So uninstalled #VSCodium #flatpack, and re-installed it using
"paru -S vscodium-bin"
and suddenly, everything just worked. 🥳

I'm sure I'll be able to used what I learned about #raylib from my previous coding endeavors. 😃

#Linux doesn't know how to get unity and gets divided on installation possibilities. They call it freedom of choice, but really is confusing for linux newbies.

I'm growing quite fond of #Linux #Mint on the tablet. Most regularly used apps are available via deb repo, without the hassle of #Snap or #Flatpack "containers"(?).

There's even a native OBS Studio version, so i can record my webcam - not as young as the flatpack, but it exists, and i don't have to worry about config issues that prevent me from writing to my filesystem.

#CachyOS / #Arch might not be for me, after all. #KDEneon was a bit too rolling, already.

Backing up my home folder in the Crostini Linux container on my Chromebook. I'd not been paying attention to how much space flatpack has been consuming. That was a surprise 🙀

The #Telegram #Snap package didn't start on #KDEneon - no idea when that broke, i don't use Telegram that often - the #Flatpack works, though.
