I explored the data quality of the generated edge network in the legacy version vs the latest version... Woah!! 🤩 It's so much better now!

Something like 10+ years ago when I was looking into #postgis , #pgrouting and other related stuff I had an idea (that's been bouncing around my skull since) for a "tripplanner for goths" that would be using DEM(my stuff) and GRASS's r.sunmask or similar, turning the raster via vector to costs and routing with that.
Now somebody built it.

#pgrouting 3.6 is now included in the #Fedora repos! Less compiling needed :D
@markstos I guess you must edit the OSM file when you want to use a routing engine like OpenTripPlanner, OSRM, GraphHopper or Valhalla
Alternatively you can use #pgrouting
It is much slower than other routing engines but it is much easier to add custom data or to do fine grained weighting of each edge

@pokateo It's cool and rainy here in Colorado!
All the playing around I've done with the H3 hexes in PostGIS is paying off in spades! I'm even using that to bring hex-based spatial analysis into MS SQL databases where some production data lives.
It's been a whole cool thing, and in the next week it'll all come together finally! I'll try to get around to writing about it 🤓
