@jacob yes, and #OpenWashing is a real issue not just with #AssholeLicensing as seen with #Redis & others using #SSPL as a literal #AssholeLicense which are just "#SourceAvailable" instead of #OpenSource, but actual #donations.and #contributions.
I know most of the FOSS community disagrees with this, but we need a reality check. Normies hear "Open Source" and they think of the source code being openly available to be seen and checked. Why don't we use the phrase Free & Open Source to describe software that is traditionally open source as the OSI defines it today?
The project containing all four implementations is available as well!
I thought NeoDB was a general database but I was wrong.
When I understood what it is it felt more like an open source version of Bookwyrm(since Bookwyrm isn't open source. It is source-available)
Apart from that it also includes movies and some other stuff...so it's like an open source alternative to BookWyrm but with extra features...
@alternativeto so it's not #OpenSource but merely #SourceAvailable!
Ship of Harkinian is a free community-made PC port of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time from the Harbour Masters team. A massive Blair Alfa (9.0.0) release just went live with a Randomizer and other major new features.

Memory a small card-matching game I made in GB Studio 4 to learn some new features.
It is very, very simple but people seem to be enjoying it! You can read about the algorithm or look over the code!

👀 Why We’re Moving to a Source Available License - ScyllaDB
"As the Enterprise version branched out of the OSS branch, it was helpful to keep a unified base for reuse and efficiency. However, it reduced our paid version differentiation since all features were open by default (unless flagged)."

@kfdm @teleclimber @aljazmerzen @dahukanna @scottjenson yeah Cloudron is Docker based too, and the individual Cloudron app packages they create are all themselves #opensource https://git.cloudron.io/apps it's just the core @cloudron platform itself that is only #sourceavailable
@teleclimber @aljazmerzen @dahukanna @scottjenson my favourite thing in this space is @cloudron it's by far the best IMHO. It's not #opensource but it's #sourceavailable. I started a thread on their forum of other similar things here which may be of interest https://forum.cloudron.io/post/73347
@xerxespersrex nodds in agreement...
At least most source available products like #Tarsnap are honest that they are not #OpenSource!
@prem_k @silentexception OFC there are differences between #Freeware, #SourceAvailable and #FLOSS...
I just found out that @bookwyrm is Source Available, not Free Code (or as most people call it "Open Source");
https://github.com/bookwyrm-social/bookwyrm/blob/main/LICENSE.md
Which means if anyone asks, I'll be recommending NeoDB (AGPL) instead;
One can really see this is an older video, as it misses not only #0BSD between #PublicDomain and #MIT but also #SSPL right of #AGPLv3 in a tab that's right of it called "#AssetDenial" or "#Monopolistic" or just "#AssholeLicensing" and a tab right of that for "#SourceAvailable" licensing, but I get ahead of myself...

With the source code available along with the game, Yawnoc is a chaotic top-down shooter rogue-lite inspired by Conway's Game of Life and other cellular automata that's out now.

More proprietary Source Available nonsense;
However, this is still worth a read;
Everything he says there applies equally to voluntarily paying a purchase fee for an AGPL package, even though you could just assemble it yourself from source code.
