I was surprised to see that #gnome's #mutter has implemented substantially fewer protocols than #KDE's #KWin, and also #Sway, #Cosmic, #Hyprland, #Niri, #Labwc, #Wayfire, #Tray, and #Treeland. I am particularly surprised, because the Wayland experience in Gnome is mostly flawless and smooth.

🇬🇧 Tonight, it's Pirates! And I needed something to roll my dice on, didn't I? And as we planned to spice up our session with a little drinking game (with or without alcohol, it doesn't matter), I designed this compass-like tray. It's obviously adorned with an illustration strongly reminiscent of the famous “Jolly Roger”, but its main feature is the presence of 5 cavities for positioning 5 shot glasses. The shot glasses are at the heart of the drinking game, while the track is reserved for the original game system.

Et comme on a prévu de pimenter notre session avec un petit jeu à boire (avec ou sans alcool, peu importe), j'ai conçu ce plateau aux allures de boussole. Il est évidemment orné d'une illustration rappelant fortement le fameux "Jolly Roger" mais se caractérise surtout par la présence de 5 alvéoles permettant le positionnement de 5 verres à shot. Ces derniers seront au cœur du jeu à boire tandis que la piste sera elle réservée au système de jeu original.

The inspiration came to me while browsing Pinterest while preparing for a role-playing session, and I thought it looked cool. As usual, I started with a manual vectorization session, followed by 3D rendering. A few dozen minutes of machining, a bit of finishing and a big painting session later, I got what you see.

I call it a multi-purpose tray because the slots can hold a glass, a cup, treats, tokens or even a dice tray. And I have to admit, I like the idea of versatility. What do you think?
