Booted BashCoreX live on my MSI i7 Katana from a 32GB USB stick using Ventoy (with other ISOs on it).
Still got 15.1 GB of usable space on the live system ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Running with 16 cores, OS using less than 1GB of RAM.
Itโ€™s fast, clean, and lightweight. I'm honestly impressed.

Minimalist OS, max efficiency. ๐Ÿ’ช

Had trouble connecting my MSI Katana to WiFi on BashCoreX live โ€” no connection to the router at all. Turns out the kernel modules msi_wmi and wmi_bmof were interfering.
Running this command fixed it:

sudo modprobe -r msi_wmi wmi_bmof

After that, I just ran:

sudo nmtui

to configure the network, and WiFi worked perfectly!

If you have an MSI laptop and WiFi issues on Linux, this might help.

BashCoreX (live or injected) with GUI lets you install and run apps like Burp Suite and ZAP Proxy, as long as youโ€™ve got space on the live system! ๐Ÿ™Œ

***They're not included by default, but you can download and install them easily after boot.

The GUI opens up a whole new level of usability ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Alsoโ€ฆ I made quite a mess with Snap while trying to install Firefox ๐Ÿ˜…
Lubuntu was so minimal it didnโ€™t have anything! But in the end, I fixed it all ๐Ÿ™Œ

Success! The BashCore Injector completed on Lubuntu VM โ€” everything installed fine and apps launch correctly.
In the coming days Iโ€™ll run deeper tests, but for now, hereโ€™s a first look with htop.

Tonight I'm testing BashCore Injector on Lubuntu to get BashCoreX: a persistent Ubuntu-based version with a GUI.
Lots of GBs to download and install, but so far so good.
Hopefully I wonโ€™t fall asleep as usual ๐Ÿ˜†

Honestly, 50 tools should be more than enough.
Who really tests all 600+ tools in Kali or the 2,500+ in BlackArch?
I tried... but some BlackArch tools didnโ€™t even run properly...

In BashCore and BashCoreX, every app works.
No duplicates. No junk. Just tools that actually run.

Yes, the ISOs are ~7GB,
but weโ€™ve got Metasploit, Searchsploit, and especially SecLists (which weighs a ton) ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

This MSI Katana is a rocket ๐Ÿš€
I've already set up the new Debian lab โ€“ BashLab โ€“ on VirtualBox.
Updated versions of and (2506) are ready...
But internet is painfully slow today. Who knows when theyโ€™ll finally be uploaded to ๐Ÿ˜…

Relentless as always ๐Ÿ˜…
Maybe tonight, or tomorrow, I'll release BashCore and BashCoreX version 2506.

Both will come fully updated (apps + kernel), now including arp-scan and drivers for and s.

Stay tuned! ๐Ÿง๐Ÿ’ป

11 downloads in the first 24 hours, and I only posted on Mastodon and LinkedIn, where I am not so popular! ๐Ÿ˜…
Thank you all for the interest in BashCoreX.
It means a lot, and it's just the beginning. ๐Ÿ™

More updates, tests and fun ahead! ๐ŸคŸ

Itโ€™s official: BashCoreX is now available on SourceForge!
Youโ€™ll find it next to the original BashCore โ€” both are downloadable from the same page linked on bashcore.org

Please take a minute to read the TXT file on SourceForge or the short description on the website.
(It took me forever to write itโ€ฆ Iโ€™m a bit crazy today, but itโ€™s a special day!)

Now itโ€™s time to celebrate.
Cheers! ๐Ÿป

Why is the hostname still "debian" and the user "live"?
Because sometimes the best way to avoid fingerprinting... is to look boring.

In BashCoreX (and possibly in the original BashCore too), I chose to keep generic names on purpose.
No flashy hostname, no custom user, just debian/live.
It blends in. It hides in plain sight. It works.

Sometimes, anonymity is about being no one.

12 hours of testing on VirtualBox on my poor old PC.
Zero crashes. BashCoreX is stable, fast, ready.

Debian-based, XFCE-powered, loaded with essential tools for ethical hacking.
Minimalism meets performance.

BashCoreX is born!

The experiment of building the ISO from Debian inside VirtualBox on a Windows hostโ€ฆ it worked!

It was a painfully slow process on my poor old PC, but hey, it worked!
They say "love always wins"... Hmm... no, brainpower always wins! ๐ŸคŸ

Letโ€™s goooo! ๐Ÿคช๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿ†

Sitting here in the dark, Foo Fighters blasting in my ears, beer in hand, rain tapping on the windows. Iโ€™m on vacation, wasting hours rebuilding a damn ISO, chasing the ghost of a minimal, perfect system...

I donโ€™t even know if itโ€™s worth it...

Yes, it is. For the beauty of code. For freedom. For the human spirit.
