If e2ee happens from client to client, means a closed proprietary app like WhatsApp can use the decrypted messages at the client level & do can steal it even though the connection is marketed as e2ee
Am I right, or I'm missing out something?
Coz I see the option to send last 5 messages to meta when I report a spam and block the number.
So the e2ee is useless if the client is closed source right? 🤔
I'm quite let down by the dishonest portrait of user support for #AI in #Mozilla products. #Thunderbird is seemingly responding to "User requests for AI in Thunderbird", the linked thread is like three people enthusiastic about AI functions from what I see.
I don't trust them any more.

I'd like to browse with an instance and like/comment/repost with a different account. Bonus points if it supports browsing pixelfed as well!

Es wird umso verwirrender, wenn gelegentlich unterschiedliche mobile Clients verwendet werden. Aber nur so lässt sich herausfinden, wie einzelne Features wie Räume & Spaces, Darstellung von Threads oder die gegenseitige Verifizierung von Geräten umgesetzt sind.

Nach eigenen Angaben werden #Mastodon, #Pleroma und #Misskey gelistet. Und #Mammuthus funktioniert auch soweit.
Das von Akira Fukushima entwickelte Whalebird ist eine #Electron-Anwendung und steht für #Linux, #MacOS und #Windows zur Verfügung.

Ryan @bluewizard Stapleton has released a fourth test version 0.1.4 of "AMail", his implementation of a modern email client for AmigaOS 3.2 that supports IMAP and SMTP.
The current version 0.14 of AMail contains several changes in various areas. Among other things, the display speed when showing email content has been increased and functions and settings for removing HTML code have been added.

@markus @sea Und da kam mir vorhin in anderem Kontext noch der Gedanke, dass Matrix als Alternative vielleicht nur deshalb so kompliziert rüberkommt, weil man beliebig viele Clients auf unterschiedlichen Plattformen nutzen kann.
Die gegenseitige Verifizierung von Clients, 'Quersignierung', muss man erstmal durchschauen.
Wenn man es dagegen wie die anderen Messenger verwendet - also nur Smartphone, kein Desktop - dann hängt die Nutzererfahrung (ja, schlimmes Wort) nur vom Client ab. Da wäre dann 'Fluffychat' eine ansprechende und wenig angsteinflößende Option.
Ein weiterer Vorteil von Matrix: Das Backup-Problem beim Smartphonewechsel entfällt, sobald währenddessen ein zweiter Client aktiv ist. Und der kann auch das WebUI auf dem Server sein.
Dies könnte DAS Argument sein, denn nach meiner Erfahrung beim DidIt-Support im Freundeskreis geht es fast immer um den Erhalt der bisherigen Chats.

Einzigartig ist allerdings die Möglichkeit, beliebig viele Clients auf unterschiedlichen Plattformen zu nutzen, jederzeit neue hinzufügen zu können und alle zu syncen - auch zurück in die Vergangenheit.
Vielleicht ist es auch nur dieser Aspekt, der Matrix kompliziert erscheinen lässt.
