After raising prices, removing features I used regularly, adding more AI and getting acquired by Grammarly, I'm done with Superhuman for work. Can't justify the $$ anymore.

My biggest requirement: it needs to be free.
My second biggest requirement: I need to be able to add it to our list of accounts on Apple Mail. Otherwise we will not check it in a timely manner. I think this disqualifies Proton because it's encrypted?
I also need it to not randomly throw away emails from smaller domains. This disqualifies Outlook.
Any recommendations?

I thought I was going crazy. #Thunderbird showed a notification about a new #email, but when I clicked on it to go to my inbox, there was no email there.
It turned out that the system pop-ups from #awesomewm now show quick actions, and either I periodically click on delete, or the clicks themselves are counted incorrectly.
In short, I found a bunch of important emails in the trash 😞

DCRAT Impersonating the Colombian Government
A new email attack distributing DCRAT, a Remote Access Trojan, has been uncovered. The threat actor impersonates a Colombian government entity to target organizations in Colombia. The attack employs multiple evasion techniques, including password-protected archives, obfuscation, steganography, base64 encoding, and multiple file drops. DCRAT features a modular architecture, comprehensive surveillance capabilities, information theft functions, system manipulation tools, file and process management, and browser credential harvesting. The attack chain involves a phishing email with a ZIP attachment containing a bat file, which drops an obfuscated vbs file. This file eventually runs a base64-encoded script that downloads and executes the final payload. The RAT employs various persistence mechanisms and anti-analysis techniques. It attempts to bypass Windows Antimalware Scan Interface (AMSI) and continuously tries to connect to its command-and-control server.

It is interesting how deeply entrenched the idea is that all Unix and Unix-alike systems must run full e-mail systems, batch and scheduled job systems, and print spoolers.
To the extent that the Debian 10 "live" system runs Exim and CUPS, out of the box.
But said box is a DVD jewel case. Debian 10 "live" comes as a read-only 9660 filesystem.
It's unreasonable to expect that a system bootstrapped and running from read-only media should support a viable mail queue and printer spool.
(And indeed, it doesn't, really. The Debian people have pulled some slight of hand with memory filesystems.)
In contrast, NetBSD and OpenBSD are available (on some architectures) as an ESP containing loaders plus a UFS1 volume, to be plopped onto read-write DASD.

The Kimsuky group has adopted a deceptive tactic called 'ClickFix' to trick users into unknowingly participating in attack chains. This method involves disguising malicious instructions as troubleshooting guides or security document verification procedures. The campaign is believed to be an extension of Kimsuky's ongoing 'BabyShark' threat activity. The tactic has evolved from VBS-based attacks to more sophisticated email-based and website-delivered methods. Attackers impersonate legitimate entities and use multilingual manuals to guide victims through seemingly harmless steps that actually execute malicious code. The group's infrastructure and linguistic patterns point to North Korean origin.
