I will be very interested to see pictures of the #PlanetaryAlignment especially from any of you who use a professional process, like an eyepiece between the camera and the telescope. I'm going the primitive route, hoping that I don't shake the camera.

And yes, it's really an arc, not a straight line. I understand elliptical orbit. And maybe it's overhyped, but anything that the world can experience together, like those crazy low latitude Auroras, or the Solar Eclipse, are the kinds of events which make me feel a connection to everyone.

The overly hyped "planetary alignment" on Friday is really a disappointment ready to happen - and it will be cloudy in CT. Saturn, Mercury and distant Neptune are lost in the glare of the setting sun. Uranus is too dim to see naked eye, but Venus in the West, Jupiter overhead and Mars farther East are easy picking.
