Pursuant to my continuing defenestration of products and services supplied by plutocrats, I am done with Amazon. No music, no Prime, no credit card. And no more Echos.
While the dots, smart speakers and shows have been dumped at the recycler, I still have 2 Studios which I would like to use as Bluetooth-only speakers since the sound was adequate. Anyone know how to use them without connecting to the Echo app? Any tips or links would be very welcome. Thx!

I found this heavy metal cooler today and brought it home but what can I do with it while the deck bar is covered with snow? Now it doubles as an extra fancy log basket for the wood stove. #recycle #reuse #repurpose #vintage #cooler #bar

Another activity I like to do on snowy days is take an egg carton, tear off the edges & top, rip these into tiny pieces & fill the cups with those pieces. Then I melt some wax on the wood stove and pour it in the cups to soak through the torn pieces. After this cools, I tear apart the cups and use them as fire starters. I do this over freezer paper so any wax that soaks through can be peeled off when solid and used next time. #recycle #reuse #repurpose #FireStarter #WoodStove #FirePlace #FirePit

I found an old GrapheneOS release which I just managed to install on my very old Pixel 3a.

Yes, I know the device is no longer supported and that it has security vulnerabilities. Yes, I know I can’t verify the release files. However, I am only planning to use the phone in my twenty years old campervan for offline OpenStreet maps and offline music player.

The car radio, while decent quality, is very difficult to use with no playlist support etc. That’s why I have been using the 3a with Ubuntu Touch, but GrapheneOS is so much more intuitive.

On my first thrifting expedition of the year I found this folding, formed steel chair for $5. I already have a folding formed steel mosaic table I can pair it with to make an outdoor reading nook in the summer.
