It's ANNOYING!!! 😡
System update and something isn't working. This time it's #pikaur, even though it wasn't updated itself (not with #pacman anyway). But the only dependency it has – #pyalpm – was updated and now it says: No module named 'pikaur'
Now I'm sitting here as a user and have to figure out how to deal with it. My day was planned differently than dealing with repairing #ArchLinux AGAIN. The annoyance is causing me a headache out of nowhere. Thanks for that.
I'm tired of it. I'm going to test #Solus on my notebook, as it was highly recommended to me.

Ich bin es leid. Auf dem Notebook werde ich #Solus testen, wie es mir wärmstens empfohlen wurde.
Ich bin immer wieder beeindruckt von Solus:
Am Wochenende kam "endlich" nach einem Monat das Update für KDE Gear 25.12, in guter "Solus-Manier" mit dem ersten Point-Release 25.12.1. Damit sind die ersten "Kinderkrankheiten" direkt behoben, Fehler konnte ich keine Bemerken und trotzdem habe ich aktuelle Software.
Sowas ist mir bisher noch in keiner Distribution begegnet und ich bin ein großer Fan davon!
Danke an das Team von Solus für ihre gute Pflege und ihren Einsatz. (Spende ist monatlich auf dem Weg.)

Ich habe keinen Unterschied bemerkt, bis auf:
1. bei Bildschirmaufnahme wird nach Berechtigung gefragt - sehr gut so! ✅
2. Touch Gesten funktionieren sowohl auf den Touchpad als auch Touchscreen. ✅
3. Grafiktablett lässt sich Einfach konfigurieren ✅
Man sollte aber auf eine Distribution setzen, die Updates erhält bzw gepflegt wird und #KDE einsetzen.
Ich hatte das Pech, Debian 12 in der Form von MX Linux zu nutzen und da ging #Wayland+Bildschirmaufnahme oder X11+Grafiktablett nicht. Ich brauchte Bildschirmaufnahme und Grafiktablett. 😤
Ein Wechsel auf #Solus behob das Problem.

Ich benutze Solus mit KDE mit einem "einfachen" angepassten Panel mittig am unteren Bildschirmrand.
Als KWin-Skript verwende ich Karousel, damit ich einen "scrolling window manager" habe.
Keine Widgets oder sonst was auf dem Desktop, da das sowieso sofort verdeckt wird, sobald ich ein Fenster öffne, was quasi eh die ganze Zeit ist.
Ich verzichte soweit möglich auf GTK-Apps und v.a. libAdwaita-Apps, da diese nicht nur kaputt aussehen, sondern meist sehr beschränkt sind (v.a. libAdwaita) und sich nicht themen lassen.
Qt-Apps sind da deutlich angenehmer und v.a. mächtiger.

#Linux a gagné du terrain en 2025, mais en 2026, il faudra tenir la distance.
Le marronnier revient chaque année, mais en 2025, il a enfin trouvé de quoi s’alimenter. Fin du support de Windows 10, progression de Linux sur Steam, distributions pensées pour les transfuges de Windows, et gros travail de fond sur la fiabilité des mises à jour. Linux ne va pas avaler Windows en douze mois, mais 2026 peut acter quelque chose de très concret si l’essai se transforme en adoption durable.
