Visited my mother at her nursing home in late afternoon. Stopped by at a supermarket on the way and got her fresh fruits and snacks. I met her in her room. She was good and ate a cup of milk pudding quickly.

Took my regular route along 2 rivers back home. The daylight hours are getting longer. I did not need my headlamp until the last couple of miles. Ran 14.6 km total at my comfortable slow pace till the end.

Feral looking guy pushing a supermarket trolley full of crap down the middle of the path in Oakleigh, I slowed, rang my bell, called out "on your right". So he then spun the trolley 90 degrees to be sideways across as much of the path as possible and kept walking square down the centre line. I slowed even more, pulled as far over as possible and started to go past and he slammed the trolley sideways into my thigh and shoved me off the path, yelling "F'ing on my f'ing right f'ya". Managed to stay upright, rode off through the dirt and called him a few choice words

I've been thinking about this photo for a while. I'll try again tomorrow either later or with a stronger ND filter so I can do a longer exposure to make the light trail go all the way. It feels a bit awkward when the light trail abruptly ends when exposure ends. There weren't many riders; there were way more runners. Not surprising since it's cold. In downtown, you get to your destination much faster and more comfortably by a bicycle than riding a private car. Riding a bicycle outside is also a good exercise. Spring, summer and autumn this is usually the case.

Increased vegetation will also allow more hazardous particulate matter (PM2.5) and carbon dioxide (CO2) to be absorbed, reducing greenhouse gas concentration and improving air quality.

"#Columbia’s second-largest city, #Medellín, launched a green corridor initiative in 2016. Since then, environmental planners there added rows of vegetation along the most polluted avenues, maximizing the amount of CO2 intake from their $16.8 million investment. Maurício Correa, a researcher studying environmental engineering at a Colombian University, found that the 8,800 trees planted became effective 'green barriers' against particulate matter and reduced average city temperature by two degrees Celsius.

"Fighting #ClimateChange isn’t the only thing green corridors can do. Historically, #wildlife has rarely been welcomed into urban life, experiencing drastic changes in the #ecosystem. However, nature-based infrastructure can promote #biodiversity and provide animal species with a safe habitat. Green corridors are indeed multi-purpose and flexible. To maximize the limited space in busy cities, green corridors can function as recreational centers, city facilities and much more—all while mitigating climate change.

The weather was really nice today. I finished work a little early and went out for a run on the bike path along the river in late afternoon. Ran 10 miles (16.5km) super easy. Only done Zwift in the last 2 days. My legs were fully rested. Felt great and strong throughout. #running #bikepath

First real ride along part of the Djerring-Scotchmans Creek off-road #bikepath. Got on the path at corner of Oxford/Burlington in Oakleigh, ride 5m. Stop as drivers come straight out across the path from the gym, including some who turn left and drive down the bike path to use it as a shortcut to get to the roundabout, passing the bumper-to-bumper cars on the parallel road. Car on the path then stops, completely preventing any cyclists getting past! @augustusbrown

Rode to the Red Cross office 5 miles away and back on my hybrid bike. I donated 400 ml of blood. It was not extremely hot, but still uncomfortably muggy. I saw only a few runners and cyclists on the bike path. My left heel feels much better now. I'll return running tomorrow, #bikepath
