Hey! How can inital #GPS finding satellites on my #LineageOS phone be sped up? I have no #gApps or #microG installed.
It takes sooooo long until I can use GPS for navigation.
Can someone guide me in the right direction?

Was mich derzeit noch mehr nervt - Apps on Android die #gapps vorraussetzen. Gerade im öffentlichen Sektor ist das für mich ein no-go.
Hier sollte alle Apps auch auf CustomROMs wie @LineageOS etc und ohne gapps laufen.
I am a #Linux beginner who recently purchased a near mint Google Pixel 3a XL with #LineageOS preinstalled. I am assuming the build is #Gapps, which I do not want. (This is why I haven't done anything with the phone yet; I would prefer that Google never know this phone exists.) I want to replace Gapps with #MicroG. Can anyone explain to me as if I was your 80-year-old grandma how to do this step by step? Not to mention the folks behind e/OS obviously need to ROI the cost of maintaining a custom Rom, since that takes more than "Just yoink the drivers and the Android sources, plop' in your APKs and yeet that on your device!" for the #developers!

So the most effective means is to fill those #GAPPS "voids" with good #FLOSS that isn't spyware.
Does anyone know a good, #FLOSS-licensed implementation of the Android Managment API for non-#GAPPS / #degoogled devices that supports #eSIM provisioning?
Basically like #MiniLPA but #remote and on #Android or any #Linux.

My #fairphone5 arrived today. The stock ROM I did try but there was way too many #GApps that I couldn't uninstall for my liking. I have installed @calyxos and have spent the afternoon installing apps and syncing with @nextcloud
Ich konnte eben auf einem #Google #Pixel 3 XL mit #LineageOS 22 (also #Android 15) die #DKB App installieren, einrichten und nutzen. Und das, obwohl das Smartphone ohne #googleplayservices oder entsprechende Ersatzdienste wie #gapps installiert ist. Ich bin sprachlos. Auf #GrapheneOS habe ich für die App immer extra einen user mit #GoogleDienste geklickt, weil ich dachte, dass #BankingApps die #playintegrityapi benötigen.

Found a way to run a banking app on a #degoogled Android phone (non-rooted #Lineage with #microg and without #gapps). Had to edit the build.prop file following post 4 on this thread:

I thought not being able to do mobile banking was one of the many sacrifices demanded when refusing to feed Google all my data. But there is a workaround - for the time being.

Moving to a combo of a #PinePhonePro and a #Pixel phone with #LineageOS sans #GApps. I ❤️ @bitwarden, but their options are... rough.
No #Google means the #FirefoxForAndroid extension can't access vaults. The webpage / #PWA is 100% not mobile responsive (in 2024!). Ditto the #Linux app. There's no #Android app in #FDroid despite, iirc, the client being #FOSS?
At least make the website mobile friendly. A non GApps extension/client would go a long, long way, too though.
