This evening I bring you, a Common Green Shieldbug, Palomena prasina, a Common Earwig, Forficula auricularia and a Seven Spot Ladybird, Coccinella septempunctata.

Common Green Shieldbug, Palomena prasina. The adults are bright green in the spring and summer. They become bronze-brown prior to hibernation.

Common Earwig, Forficula auricularia. The strongly curved forceps identify this as a male.

7-Spot Ladybird, Coccinella septempunctata. A red Ladybird with black spots.

Hard to see against the leaf, this elevated, slender shieldbug is a Box Bug (Gonocerus acuteangulatus).

This is another recent arrival in the UK.

A little above freezing but the bright sunshine resulted in some basking.

This was the star of the day.

The antennae are visible. The flower, given the overlapping petals and the central seed head, seems to be a member of the daisy family.
