It’s great to see the bees out and about but my eyesight’s not good enough to identify them without the help of a good photo. #BeeScrolling

A mining bee of some sort probably. It has ginger thorax hairs and a yellow and black striped abdomen. It is gorging on the small yellow flowers of an overwintered oriental leafy green in a greenhouse.

A little patch of iris reticulata yesterday and a bumblebee on a salvia last summer.

Bee on a bird vetch.

Medium closeup photo of a purple flower called a bird vetch, slightly out of focus, in front of some out of focus greenery. Perched on the upper right side of the flower is an American bumblebee, in focus, with a yellow body and black head and posterior and a black spot in the yellow on the body. You can see a glob of pollen stuck to one of its lower legs. As is often the case, I have the feeling of remembering taking this photo, but have no recollection of where it may have been, other than somewhere near Boston, MA, based solely on the date.
