I fixed my lovely wool jumper knitted by my cousin from yarn in wool her late mother coloured with leaves and mushrooms in the early eighties. I use it a lot as I carry them with me through this jumper. I got a hole on the elbow and used wool that I needle felted an eye from. The eye can now look backwards behind me. And yes I did make the eye blood strained 👀

I can highly recommend darning your cheap socks, for two reasons.
Reason one: It's very good practice, as the cheap material is harder to work with than a good sock.
Reason two: You can save up money to buy better socks. Rather than constantly buying the flimsy ones. Lots of makers out there to choose from.
