@PaulaMaddox I didn't actually post to the forums yet, but I got it working. I had the FT600 board underneath the FPGA board and it did not work. I then tried it with the FT600 board on the top (because I wanted to probe it) and then it suddenly worked with the loopback test.

Great success for day one!

It's not clear what the problem with in the other configuration, but that can wait till another day.

#Copilot told me bullshit, and i went ahead and paid 5 bucks for an #FTDI USB UART, without verifying.

NO, you can't use CBUS lines for PPS - that was a hallucination. 🤬

I've been playing with the newer ATtiny IC recently and decided it was time to recreate #AVRFT234 (my small AVR ISP programmer using an #FTDI #FT234XD) as a low voltage #UPDI programmer. I'm calling it the #UPDIFT234 😄 .

A small PCB with a Micro USB connector on one end soldered between a 2x3 socket at the other plugged into a purple rectangular ATtiny3217 dev board with a lit red LED.

Flashprog v1.2 is dubbed Quadruped Tortoise 🎉

Our new release is ready for #firmware / #BIOS / #UEFI flashing: flashprog.org/wiki/Flashprog/v

It finally brings the first bits of multi i/o and QPI support. Owners of a #Dediprog SF600 will definitely want to try this! 😉 There's also a new driver for #FTDI FT4222H.

After the release is before the release, and we are currently looking for testers of new chipset support: Any testing around Intel Meteor Lake or AMD Zen 4 and beyond is most welcome!

I decided to build a DrawBridge, an #Arduino #Amiga #Floppy Disk Reader/Writer, see here: amiga.robsmithdev.co.uk/
For this, I bought a genuine #ArduinoNano and will use one of my old PC floppy drives.
First step was #soldering the CTS pin of the #SMD #FTDI chip to pin A2. This was a challenge because I didn't want to unsolder the pin headers which might've made it easier.
So, I used an enameled copper wire and fiddled it through a via.
No shorts, and least the diagnostic shows it works.

bottom of the Arduino Nano showing the enameled copper wire soldered to the FTDI chip. it disappears in a viatop side of the Arduino Nano, the enameled copper wire comes through the via next to A0 and is soldered to the pin A2

Success 🥳💪🏻 Using to play a 64 psid file over usb through an ft2232h on a . Audio out via the SwinSID output back into the linein of my PC. You are hearing 16Bit Machine 🎶 from the

Added custom code to vice to support this 😎
Also tried the the by but thats not playing clear sounds yet.
Ps. The bits spamming past are debug prints, no worries.

So what do you do when you want to play tunes 🎶 on your PC but don't want to use software only?
Today (and earlier) I made a modified version of by Gianluca Ghettini usinf an dev board I had lying around instead of a .
Far from finished, but the first tunes are already coming out. Source code will be available on my after I tidy it up a bit!😎

Would need some help with #solaris #ftdi #serial #drawbridge and github.com/isoriano1968/Arduin it does not find the serial ports though device attached and I despair. Compiles fine on Solaris, now, but it looks like the device is not detected. SerialIO.cpp and Main.cpp need some c++ love.

I learnt something about serial connections the other day.

I want to make it so my TV automatically turns on and off with my HTPC. Since almost no desktop GPU supports HDMI-CEC I needed to look for another solution. Turns out the TV has a fully documented serial interface which allows me to control it, so I bought an FTDI usb to serial adapter.

Unfortunately, both the TV and the adapter have male connectors (pins) so I bought a gender changer as well.

Turns out, serial is kind of a mix between USB and Ethernet. Most of the time, it was used to connect a PC to a modem. But in my case the TV counts as a second PC. And if you want to connect a PC to another PC via serial, then you need a special crossed over "null modem" cable. So yeah, I ordered one now.

Absolutely shameful. We must boycott that asshole company.

We, the world should be selling nothing to those bastards. Not even clothes. No cheese, no beans, tortillas, avocado, nothing! Let them keep fighting with their own dirt. Because they came from that dust and they will become that dust.

They saying for them should really say fertilizer in Ukraine actually, but you get the point. No need to help them.

The most frustrating part is I only have the one DB-9 to mini DIN-8 cable and -19HS and they worked with this same setup under years ago. That said, it probably has been 10 years now.

I'll need to locate a genuine adapter to see if I get any different results, but that'll take more time and money.

So, my little brother has a #SnapCircuits LED MC module, which has a #PICAXE chip in it. I figured I could just hook it up to a #FTDI TTL-232R-3V3 adapter with the TX and RX logic inverted with FTPROG. However, it looks like the default program on it is using the Serial In port as GPIO? How can I force it to enter "programming mode"? The inverted signal is idle low as far as I understand, so it won't even be able to tell there is something connected?

Raspberry Pi's new Debug Probe

This is nice to see, although I already have a small collection of various USB to serial probes that goes back to actual 25 and 9-pin DIN connectors.(...)

Making a dedicated #FTDI cable for the #RC2014. Guess who followed the convention. 😉

A coloured ribbon cable connected to an FTDI USB dongle. The plugs are labeled "FTDI" and "RC2014", respectively. RC2014 Mini in the background.
