my brain is so funny, every 12-24 hours i get tired of the same font on my sourcecode editor, so i've taken to rotating amongst 4 or 5 different monospaced fonts every 12-24 hours or so... right now my list is (in no particular order)

- consolas
- noto mono
- courier new
- deja vu sans mono
- ubuntu mono

are there any other good ones i should try? :)

The GitHub Monaspace fonts, release v1.2 is a 948 MB download. That has to be the most massive font release I’ve ever seen. Are all Noto fonts together even as large as that?

I have tried so many #monospaced #fonts, but I keep coming back to #Inconsolata as pleasant and readable. Latest I tried was the #Monaspace family, but the block "@" sign did them in for me. (Really interesting otherwise though!)

i ran a simple test of 142 fonts on https://programmingfonts.com -- which ones of these

1. have any cyrillic support at all
2. use easily distinguishable glyphs for 3 and З

the end result is 17.

consider that most monospaced fonts designed for programming specifically aim to make it easier to distinguish characters that are similar-looking in other fonts, like iI1l or 0O.

If you learn the Braille alphabet, you've essentially learned uncontracted Braille, aka 'grade 1 Braille.' This type of Braille takes up a LOT of space on a page.
