clustering diagrams show that P. pseudoglauca and P. wuana are generally morphologically similar. Additional genetic and phylogenetic analysis demonstrates that the genetic structure of P. wuana is extremely consistent with P. pseudoglanca, while ABBA-BABA and HyDe analysis shows that they all originated from the hybridization of Populus ciliata and Populus curviserrata.

Die Raupe des Pappelschwärmers (Laothoe populi) ist nicht nur an Pappeln (#Populus sp.) sondern auch an Weiden (#Salix sp.) zu finden. Als Fotograf kann man sich schön an ihren Details "abarbeiten". Den ausgewachsenen Falter gäbe es dann erst im nächsten Jahr zu sehen. Ich habe sie leider noch nie beobachten können.
