So my suspicion is that #Phanpy was somehow corrupted.
I'm not sure, however, if that's a symptom of a deeper issue, or the root cause itself.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue? If so, what were the steps to fixing it?

Has anyone succeeded in accessing #GDrive files from a file manager under Linux?
I tried the gdrive kioslave (using Dolphin under KDE), but it fails because --
Unable to create KIO worker. Unknown protocol 'gdrive'.
Searching Synaptic, the only thing with "gdrive" in it was that kioslave, which (of course) I installed. DDGing for information about this finds very little, and a lot of what I find is wrong or outdated, and none of it mentions the gdrive protocol. The instructions for the kioslave seem to think It Just Works.
(Google's desktop client is only available for WIndows and Mac, and the Windows version won't install under WINE.)
I'm using the latest Kubuntu (24.10).

@Harena is trying to offload a bunch of stuff from her #GoogleDrive in order to free up space, having almost used up the 15GB free limit -- but even after deleting a bunch of stuff, it only freed up a few MB and we're trying to figure out what's going on (and also it would be nice to have a more friendly file-oriented UI for doing this).
Looking to create my own little private space that syncs my #Android phone and #Arch #Linux devices. The syncing part is no biggie, but is #VeraCrypt and #EDSlite secure and solid applications for this #encryption project of mine? I'm open to other solutions. #TechHelpNeeded
Hey uh, #PCbuilders, dumb question.
This laptop takes its m.2 SSDs in caddies with an interface adapter. If I put an NVMe drive into bay 2 it complains about... PCIe storage in bay 2/3, fair enough.
If I remember correctly it's NVMe m.2 that has only one notch (M key) and SATA that has two (B+M key), which therefore means I can put a SATA m.2 SSD in where an NVMe m.2 SSD resides.
Am I wrong, or
So, need a new phone that isnt going to try to shove AI down my throat.

Help urgently needed. MS word restarts on saving as well as copying text. Event viewer shows MSVCP140.DLL as the faulty module. I can't remove or uninstall it. Have tried uninstalling+reinstalling Office, uninstalling+reinstalling all the visual c++ packages (in safe mode), problem persists. I am panicking as deadlines loom. Can't use alternate apps because of specific macro needs.

I'm maybe looking at upgrading the Wi-Fi card on my laptop. Is getting any Wi-Fi card should be alright for Linux or would I need to get certain ones?
I did check online of the specs of the current Wi-Fi card and the it has the PCIe Half MiniCard solt

What's the best way to defrag a NTFS partition on a USB HDD?
No, I'm not installing Windows on my internal SSD but if there's any flash drive boot solution, even if they are live Windows, that would help.
The NTFS partition was used with a Windows 10 installation but is not the one that contains a Windows 10 installation.

PS2 won't read discs (no red insert PS2 disc even with modchip disabled) be DVDs or CDs.
Laser seems to move up and down, motor goes to various random places around the disc before the PS2 complains about bot being able to read discs.

Greetings Fedizens! Ive been busy researching some options and found it may be better to reach out to experts here. What am I referring to? Details:
I am mostly deaf so this is an accessibility project but also a music therapy project. I prefer the acoustic guitar to all other instruments played because I can "feel" many of the sound frequencies I can't hear. I've been away from playing guitar for some years but recently decided to get a 3/4 size folk/classical Austin travel guitar. My goal is to play it for both physical rehab and general wellness/pleasure.
The first thing I did on receiving the guitar was take it over to Guitar Center. I had them change out the steel strings with flexible low gauge nylon strings and file the rough fret edges while setting the nut and bridge accordingly. Then I spent a couple of weeks building callouses and starting the physical rehab. It's going great! However, I do have an issue hearing it, so this is what I need some help with.
I need to be able to hear the guitar sound better but not disturb anyone nearby - and to be able to hear another guitar being played better as well (anticipating a jam session). This reminded me of needing to play an electric guitar "silently" for a variety of reasons.
My plan to self-accommodate my disability is to find a way to
1) amplify a non-electric acoustic guitar without losing natural sound quality
2) hear the amplified natural sound of my guitar, and at times another guitar, via my headset (and make the mixed sound available to the other guitarist)
3) optionally also mix the microphone channels
4) optionally have other inputs for the mixer, i.e. drum machine, mp3, wireless mic, bluetooth connection, additional wired inputs for instruments or mics
5) output available to virtual amplifier/pedal/speaker/PC
Functionally, this diagram is what I came up with where: guitars are "electrified" using piezo or mic to convert the sound to electric form; headsets with 3.5mm jacks have Y adapters to split the mic input from the speaker capabilities; 8 channel mixer shown so all sounds can be mixed and pre-amplified; mixed and slightly amplified sound is heard in the headsets via a sound monitor splitter; and the potential to offer the other options exists for the future.
What I need help with is determining what tech to buy to achieve a natural quality reproduction of the sound a person with normal hearing hears. (Hearing aids are horrible regarding sound quality.) Summary of functions: audio mixer, audio pre-amp with multiple-headset monitor capability, natural sound quality audio interface (FX not needed but nice to have just in case), and modern features for wireless, bluetooth, and mp3 connectivity.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what tech options I have?
