Nowadays it would crash trying to open #Slack even on a minimalist #Linux distro like @bunsenlabs in @dillo, a lightweight browser ...
And now imagine that some folks have to use #Slack, #MicrosoftTeams, #Telegram, #Signal, #WhatApp, #WeChat, #QQ and #LineMessenger at the same time on their machine, and you can imagine that this will make entry-level desktops already scream harder than if someone were to loop the Lost Coast benchmark on them...
Everywhere else we'd not accept such a #bloatware IRL.

You can be ordered, by the courts and the government, to pretend to be super secret and private with no authority or liberty to warn people you're spying on them.
Jurisdiction matters.
You want a provider that is outside the jurisdiction of the United States, Russia, and China.
Signal and WhatsApp should not be trusted, and anyone who argues otherwise is a fool and likely stuck with a cult of personality, while simping for a corporation.

Esto hace que gente con pocos recursos o los que pasan sus vidas endeudadas estén más inclinados a usar estos servicios y de esta manera se hacen más fuertes las companías.
Cuesta mucho hoy día en CR no tener el whatsapp o facebook.
Es hora que nos hagamos indepiententes de estos servicios. Hasta ahora solamente han estado vendiendo nuestros datos. Y a mi nunca me han preguntando si estuviera de acuerdo con que suban mi contacto junto con el resto de la libreta a whatsapp.
Lo que ahora pasa es que los fascistas en el poder en #EEUU van a usar estos datos para acabar con cualquiera que no les haga caso o que no les caiga bien.
Admás, puede que el día de manyana paren los servicios para país X.

А есть люди кто пропагандирует использование #telegram как AIO приложения, думаю из-этого ничего хорошего не получится.
Для меня главные минус - наличие колоссального наличия ботов, по которым нет ни рейтинга ни кто его создал, не очень себя безопасно чувствую. Да и ленты новостей не хватает.
Да и бизнес смотрю отходит от него, помню еще пару лет назад все пытались пересесть в него. Сейчас по крайней мере в моей сфере (логистика, оптовая торговля, международные перевозки и внутренние перевозки) стандартом общения по прежнему остается #WhatApp
Спрашивал многих коллег, ответ был один, там просто общение и ничего лишнего и он есть у всех у китайцев и индусов, телеги к примеру у них нету в визитках, так как есть свои мессенджеры внутренние.
Так что telegram надо с позиционированием определиться. Ты либо для бизнеса, либо за приватность, может ты уже блог платформа или что ты)))

@teamdatenschutz ich erkenne derzeit nicht, dass Behörden & Firmen tatsächlich um #Datenschutz & die #DSGVO kümmen, bzw sich aktiv bemühen Daten zu schützen. In unseren Betriebsstätten sind wir gut dabei, aber bei Lieferanten, Dienstleistern & Kunden ernten wir bei Erläuterung dazu nur Unverständnis. #WhatApp , #Office365 , #Teams, #Facebook , #Instagram , #Google & Co werden weiterhin unbekümmert genutzt. Es scheint, als wäre die Gesetzgebung ein lediglich ein Papier-Tiger.
What fresh hell is this? Anyone else getting kicked to download #Whatapp for Desktop when going to web.whatsapp.com now? (EDIT: It works now after about 15 minutes of resolving to the download page, I presume this is an upcoming "feature" not a bug.)
