This year we’re looking for researchers in the field of imaging, biosensing or diagnostics at any independent career stage who have published in the journal in the last five years.

Introduced for the 15th anniversary of the journal, the Chemical Science Lectureship will align with the topic of the Chemical Science Symposium for a given year.

The winner will present their lectureship at the next Chemical Science symposium in November 2025 in a special Lectureship session, with associated travel costs included as part of the prize. They will also be invited to join the Chemical Science Advisory Board.

Researchers must be independent and have published in Chemical Science within the last 5 years. There are no requirements to have received a PhD within a set period for this Lectureship; candidates will be considered for contributions within the past five years.

I am still quite overwhelmed by the last two weeks. So many new and interesting people including a lot of #scientists joined #Mastodon. I gained quite some new followers and I found more people to follow, as well. Therefore, I feel that I should re-#introduce myself.

In real life, I am a #physicist working on #CarbonNanostructure|s since more than 20 years and employing different methods, mainly #ESR and #ElectronicTransport. I lead my own research group, where the focus at the moment is on #Biosensing with #Graphene and #CarbonNanotubes as well as spin-polarized injection of charge carriers into CNTs.

Though my research is not about #ClimateChange, I joined #Scientists4Future from the very beginning (I got to sign the statement even before the legendary press conference). I contributed to the S4F Wissenszentrum but the focus of my activities is with my regional group at #Osnabrück. I like the #CreativeCommons approach of S4F and I try to get my labs to be as #OpenSource as possible (takes time and is not always straight forward). When I was looking at how I can integrate my engagement in my job – where in addition to regular physics students I get to educate future physics teachers – got into #BNE.

I am a #feminist, since I am 15 years old. The older I get, the more radical I feel about it. Of course, there is no #Feminism but #intersectional feminism. I serve as equal opportunity officer at our physics department and push #WomenInSTEM, every now and then also posting about it. Only a year after becoming a feminist, I started to work together with the local #Antifa group. Though never an active member myself, I was always sympathizing with them and hopefully I have been supportive as well since then. #NoNazis

My own arrival in the #Fediverse dates back about half a year. I found my way here via #Mastodon, just like so many newcomers. But thanks to always helpful #Fedizens , I quickly learned about other nice places in the federation and how convenient it is that everything is connected. My main platform remains to be Mastodon but I write longer texts using my #Friendica account, e.g., this one about the #IPCCAR6 report of WG1 friendica.opensocial.space/dis… . If you want to comment via Mastodon just copy the address into the search field. My posts on Mastodon are automatically deleted after 6 months, the ones on Friendica will remain. I share videos on #PeerTube. The plan was to share mainly #Poetry there, however at the moment I lack the time to make subtitles. So it might take some time until I share them elsewhere.
