I just finished #reading the mega-zine "Tracing back the steps of our fat liberation" by a collective of authors and I absolutely loved it. I am thankful that such a book/zine exists and I wish everyone took the time to read it.
It's a collective, queer, trauma sensitive approach to one's own body fat, to the body as a whole and all the things, positive and negative, we can experience through it. It's an ode to queer love, the world of dating, free(-ing) sexuality and the power of community. It is also full of beautiful, high quality pictures of fat bodies swimming, laughing, relaxing, enjoying. It has autobiographical entries, recipes, political commentary, poems and exercises for each of us. It's an incomplete master piece, as so many stories could still be shared and so many aspects of life in a fat body further explored. A part two is planned, from what I understand, and I would love to get my hands on it!
The collective of authors: Lydia Rose Kray, Luise Gonca Demirden, Fred Rembrandt Etzel Dietlieb Stecher, Rosa Brockelt and FupaMagic form the collective Stepsof_fatliberation, through which you can order the zine. Want to become an activist or expand your skills in intersectional activism? Are you interested in radical food systems and climate justice? Are you between 18 and 30 years old and based in the Netherlands? Then join our free ACTIVIST LAB in Amsterdam from 28.-31.08. and learn how to act for radical food systems change!

During these 4 days, you will learn from ASEED and other groups in the movement about the struggle for agroecology and food autonomy. The programme will also include sessions such as a campaigning workshop, an action training, anti-oppression training, and sessions on well-being and regenerative practices in activism.

Whether you have some experience or are new to (intersectional food justice) activism, different experience levels are welcome. The activist lab is free of charge, and includes free meals. We can also offer some reimbursements for travel costs and provide sleeping spots for those not based in Amsterdam. We especially encourage people from marginalised backgrounds or with limited access to activist spaces and trainings, to apply!
