Looking at #NextCloud as an alternative to #dropbox. Also looking at Nextcloud providers. It's a lot. Any advice?
Anything I pick I will use #cryptomator with it, because I don't trust the cloud with my encryption passphrase. :)

Hallo, lieber Mike und liebes Blog-Team,
vielen Dank für Eure tolle Arbeit, ich habe dadurch schon eine Menge gelernt und vieles gut umsetzen können! 😊
So z. B. auch das Thema Nextcloud und Verschlüsselung.
Mit dem Cryptomator ist es wirklich einfach, auf der Nextcloud Dateien verschlüsselt zu speichern.
Da ich aber die Nextcloud auch gern dazu nutzen wollen würde, sensible Dateien z. B. Ärzt*innen oder Notar*innen zukommen zu lassen (die nutzen doch tatsächlich fast alle für den Datenaustausch E-Mail und kennen natürlich auch PGP nicht😖), frage ich mich, ob es hier eine Möglichkeit gibt.

@reallychris On my system (#CachyOS) I have 11 things installed from the AUR. The most used is cryptomator (encrypted safe that can live in any cloud storage), davfs2 to mount a nextcloud, dutree, and then there's stuff related to the R programming language. I.e. two IDEs and some dependencies for R itself or for some of the R pckgs I use: positron, rstudio, gcc9, gfortran9, udunits and v8-r.

**iOS Storage**: A good part of DT was that I could have and search my documents in my phone, it saved me more than once. Sync and storage were also encrypted. I was very interested in regaining it in the same way. What did the trick is #cryptomator and Samurai search.
**Notes**: DT's editing capabilities were never good and I've long settled for #emacs with #denote for notes. Can't recommend them enough, so no loss here.

Now is a good time to enable Advanced Data Protection on your #AppleID. With US legislation facing a big question mark for the future, amongst others, regarding tech, end-to-end encryption for your data can’t hurt and should even be the default. Nutzt hier jemand #Cryptomator? Die Rezensionen der Android-App klingen eher schlecht, was die Benutzbarkeit angeht, und es gibt weder eine Testversion noch eine Freemium-Variante wie für iOS.
Ganz konkret würde mich interessieren, ob die Bedienbarkeit (Navigation, Suche) wirklich so schlimm ist wie beschrieben.
