Jan 20, 2026 @ 20:00 (!) Good evening family & friends❣️ Still cold, wind chill is -0°F; now it's been a half-century since I've had a math class, but I don't recall that -0 was a thing at that time. Not sure when that changed...maybe one of the times they re-re-re-classified Pluto? (The planet, not the dog...) Anyway it is warm in here and that's what matters to me! Pete is on a local net in his ham shack, just fed the dogs so they are set for the night, and I will take care of my PoiBoiz shortly too. I slept most of the afternoon which wasn't a surprise. Made dog food (beef, pork, fish, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, green beans, blueberries, plus the usual flax meal and bone meal and parsley) for Maisie when I got up, it is cooling now and ready to go in the fridge when it's done. Oh the exciting life I lead hahaha! I will likely take the rest of the evening and watch TV or something, oh how I miss the days when I could read books!! I used to be an avid (x1000) reader for most of my life. I can read short amounts, especially if I can follow an audio book while reading the print version, without having to start over every few minutes after the words were misfiled (🧠🗄️) but it isn't the same as those delightful marathon book sessions! Reading was always so much more satisfactory than watching TV! Or is it just me...? OK, so I'm rambling, it's time to get going, and I will see you in the morning. Sleep well - good night❣️🙇‍♀️🥱🛌🌛

I really like to get back to frequent 10-mile fasting hikes/walks. I did 2-4/week in 2023-24; but very few in 2025 due to other interests and opportunities that are incompatible with that goal. If only I can do both.🤲

Day 3 of my water fasting. I would have expected a loss of energy from lower glucose, but that hasn't happened yet. Exercise still seems to have a quick recovery. I'm sure I'll hit the wall in the following days. The goal is to maximize metabolic efficiency. I read that fasting changes the mitochondria, elongating them for efficiency. The goal is fasting until next Monday and see what it does for the blood tests, CBC/metabolic/lipids. My goal is to see how effectively young my body can perform. I'm in my late 50's and health care in this country is horrifically expensive and this is all about health and strength for decades ahead.

High fat low carb diets create satiation resulting in eating less, which may explain the benefit. I would like to see a comparison study with fasting. #fasting #nutrition
