Fallen Petal - As seems to happen often when I'm hunting macro shots, I saw this tiny fallen petal on a dew-laden reed as I was already crouched down, shooting something else. Some details are just too small to see while walking.

A macro photograph of a small magenta flower petal, which has fallen into a dew laden reed. The tips of the small reed branches are covered in tiny drops of water, all of which is lit by the rising sun.

"Orvalho" is the Portuguese word for "dew". I've always thought it was beautiful, the way water floats on top of leaves and petals, but last week my macro lens brought me an entirely new appreciation for this mesmerizing phenomenon.

Dew Collector - Some deceptively fuzzy dew-coated leaves spotted this morning at Maplewood Flats.

A macro photograph of a small green leafy plant (sorry, I'm terrible at identifying plants). The plant has multiple long leaves, each ringed by small fuzzy hairs. The leaves and hairs are coated with morning dew, with a larger droplet having accumulated at the centre of the plant.
Tiny worlds hidden in plain sight — morning dew resting on a spider’s web, like nature’s own string of pearls. Slow down, breathe, and let the earth remind you how to wonder again.

Close-up of an Iberian wild pear hanging from a branch, covered in morning dew. A golden droplet clings to the bottom of the fruit, with fine spiderweb threads shimmering in the sunlight, also touched by drops of water.

From my one and only trip out East. This is from a foggy fall morning at Camden Harbor, Maine.

A color portrait photo of a dew covered cobweb in a fork of a shrub's branch. It is a spiral type web covered in dew drops. It looks very delicate. The out of focus background shows yellow fall foliage on the left and red fall foliage on the right.
